College Football Never Looked Cuter: Get Your NCAA Gear!

imageThere’s nothing like football in the fall: the crisp smell of fresh fallen leaves on the tailgate grounds, the glow of the bright lights that illuminate the early-to-darken autumn sky, and the sweat steaming off the evening’s heroes as they fight for the game. Unless you’re Van Wilder, college only lasts a good four(ish) years before the real world without attending weekly football games ensues. Luckily, you can live the college legacy though your favorite sports teams with some spirited sportswear! With NCAA football heating up, what better way than to spend your weekends rooting your favorite football team(s) in full gear? And we’re not talking mama’s old college logo sweatshirt from her pep club days — University sports shops nationwide have garnered some pretty sweet collections that would make any fan stylish. With school just having started, football is certainly the sport to start with, but you can let the fun continue through the year with some cutting edge fan wear to support your love for your other big college favorites, basketball and baseball! Take just a peep in this slideshow at the great variety of college sportswear in store for you at your favorite NCAA team’s online shop and celebrate your team spirit!

Get Erin O’Connor’s Neon Look At London Fashion Week

imageThe fall runways were splattered with bright hues and neon shades. Erin O’Connor showed us how to do it best at the Vivienne Westwood Red Label fashion show during London Fashion Week, by adding just a splash to an all black or neutral outfit. The model strutted her stuff front row at the show in a sexy fitted sequin blazer and with some slouchy black trousers. However, what took her outfit from chic to extraordinary was the large neon pink purse. Neon can be a hard trend to tackle (like the Michael Kors highlighter yellow trapper hat) but when done in small doses it can really pack a punch with out making you look like your dressed for an ’80s party. Check out the slideshow for how to get Erin’s look as well as some other neon accessories. Photo credit: PR Photos

Shop For Chic Jewelry And Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

imageAs you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so while we may be thinking of dark fall colors, it’s definitely time to think pink instead. I’m not the biggest fan of wearing t-shirts with words or ribbons so I’m doing my part in the cause by adding some jewelry to my wardrobe instead. Various designers and retailers have partnered together to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Network of Strength, Susan G. Komen Foundation and other research efforts. That means the money you used for the bling you’re wearing went to an amazing cause. Talk about guilt free shopping! Some of my favorite pieces include Avanessi One Love bracelet where 15% of sales will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation. I also really like the bold pink strap and watch face of the Francine Patent BCRF Watch by Coach. Take a look at my slideshow for some of my favorite jewelry that supports breast cancer research and awareness!

Lily Allen Shows Off Chanel’s Coco Cocoon Collection

imageFor Fall/Winter 2009 Chanel is introducing the new Coco Cocoon Collection, a line of casual handbags and accessories made out of washed lambskin or quilted nylon. The puffy reversible bags reveal the signature quilted Chanel pattern when turned inside out. Combining style with practicality, “Coco Cocoon” handbags smoothly transition from everyday city life to relaxing weekend getaways. The line includes a range of handbags, travel bags and small leathergoods. Lily Allen, portrayed as Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, is the face of the collection, and I have to say, the ads almost tempt me to splurge on the sleeping bag lookalikes! Don’t forget to check out ShopDiary for other news on the season’s new releases!

Coquette Has Her Eye On Bombako Headbands

imageIt’s no wonder why Gossip Girl brought headbands to the forefront once again, but these headbands by Bambako take them to a whole new level of sophistication. Details such as feathers, beading, and ornate ribbons make these a perfect compliment to any outfit without looking overly embellished or gaudy. For the Fall/Winter 2009 collection, designer Abigail Ricarte wanted to create pieces that were fun, strong, and ultra femme. “This season, I was really drawn to bold statement pieces by playing with different textures and heavy splashes of color in between. I wanted to appeal to a range of girls – from yuppies to hipsters,” says Abigail. And given the variety of her collection, from the glitzy Night in Tunesia to the laidback feathered Oh Hey band, we can’t imagine what type of girl wouldn’t be able to find something she likes! Hot In The Hive: Ghost Corkscrew By Alessi

imageNot a day goes by without the Stylehive office busy exchanging links to the newest, cutest, and sometimes really ridiculous (like a $12,000 Balmain jumpsuit). But it’s no secret that we all love Alessi products and that our dream homes would be filled with gadgets made by the famed Italian design factory. Our latest find is the Ghost corkscrew designed by Alessandro Mendini. Perfect for Halloween, the ghost corkscrew is a limited edition piece and sure to be a conversation starter when you use this to open up all the bottles of libations at your upcoming Halloween party. In fact, I’d probably use this all year ’round for a bit of Halloween cheer all the time. There are other costumed characters such as a devil, angel, rock star, and king, but the ghost is the one that charmed our hearts!

Price: $88
Who Found It: facadeindreams was first to add the Ghost Corkscrew By Alessi to the Hive.

LC Lauren Conrad For Kohl’s Appeals To Recessionistas

imageLike most celebrity designers with high-priced items, appealing to the masses has become the latest trend. Target, Walmart and Kohl’s have replaced Bloomingdale’s, Saks and Barneys. Who can afford those anymore? And so celebrities, or their advisers, got smart. Sell your clothes for less in highly trafficked discount stores. Genius! The latest celeb designer to jump on the trendy-for-cheap bandwagon is Lauren Conrad herself. While LC’s casual, Cali-chic pieces used to sell for upwards of $150, her line at Kohl’s, LC Lauren Conrad, is priced below $50. Consisting of laid-back tees, tanks, dresses and jeans, the line is actually pretty nice for casual wear. I even saw a pair of boyfriend jeans for $37! Her line debuted on September 15th in select Kohl’s nationwide and her second collection hit stores October 1st. Head over to WhatsWear to watch as Lauren explains her line and how she got ready for the launch.
