Hot In The Hive: Michael Kors Very Hollywood Solid Perfume Cocktail Ring

imageOk, I can’t be the only person who’s ecstatic about the return of Michael Kors as a judge on Project Runway, right? I didn’t know I could miss his clever and biting quips (“slutty slutty slutty” and “insane crotch” come to mind) more than Heidi Klum misses being pregnant. Michael Kors has the American sportswear market cornered with his sophisticated yet effortlessly styled clothing. So I wasn’t surprised when browsing through Sephora that he’s lent his name to various fragrances too. Of course, Michael understands the value of having something with multiple functions. His Very Hollywood Solid Perfume Cocktail Ring definitely fits the bill because it may look like a showstopping cocktail ring, but if you slide the gem over, it’s also a solid perfume. The Very Hollywood perfume has notes of sparkling mandarin, gardenia, and vetiver for a fresh yet distinctive scent. Go ahead, dab some on at your pulse points and get ready to steal the show!

Price: $40
Who Found It: facadeindreams was first to add the Michael Kors Very Hollywood Solid Perfume Cocktail Ring to the Hive.

7 Seriously Alluring (And Wearable!) Leather Mini Dresses

imageFashionistas just can’t get enough of leather this fall. Moto jacket? Check. Fingerless driving gloves? Check. Liquid leggings? Check, once you work up the nerve to actually wear them. But one thing you may have yet to add to your autumn trend arsenal is a leather dress! I know it sounds risky, since prior to this recent leather invasion you probably associate the material mostly with biker babes and dominatrices, but you may be surprised to find that this season’s leather LBDs aren’t overdramatic. Instead, the latest leather minis simply provide a sexy sheen to otherwise modest silhouettes like this Gryphon smock dress and this shift dress from Alice + Olivia. Pair with a killer set of ankle booties for your next dressy night out, or add some serious sparkle with a bib necklace and you’ve got yourself a New Years Eve ensemble (hey, it’s never too early to plan ahead)! Check the slideshow for some of my favorite leather dresses.

Ghoulish And Gorgeous Halloween Makeup To Complete Your Look!

imageIf you’re not exactly the most handy with an eyeliner brush, or even if you can’t tell the difference between an eyeliner brush or an eyeshadow applicator, you may normally skip past beauty aisles and counters out of fear of the unknown… or the likelihood that you’ll end up looking like something out of a horror movie if left to your own devices with a collection of shades. Luckily, Halloween is the one time of year where that look just might work in your favor! Costume makeup doesn’t discriminate between the cosmetics-challenged and the beauty adept; even if you’re not looking to go out as a drag queen, it can be fairly easy to complement your costume with the right Halloween-appropriate makeup. Dark nail polish is always an easy way to get festive, or take the opportunity to go full-out glam with gilded eye foil. Or if you’re really that helpless when it comes to self-beautifying, these wild ColorOn eyeshadow appliques practically do all the work for you! Take a look at the slideshow for some perfect beauty picks to either look frightening or fetching on your night out!

Get Your Own “Little Miss Lanvin” Doll

imageJeanne Lanvin founded the fashion house we know as Lanvin in 1889. In 2001, Alber Elbaz took over as artistic director and the house has never been the same since. His designs grace the red carpet and hang in fashionista’s closets everywhere. Along with the gorgeous gowns, he incorporates cute “Little Miss Lanvin” illustrations on some cheeky t-shirts and sweaters. Now they’re stepping into 3-D. Lanvin has partnered up with the porcelain company Franz to make “Little Miss Lanvin” dolls. Each season there will be 6 new limited edition porcelain dolls, with just 800 released. Priced at $345 each, they each come packaged in Lanvin’s signature pale blue box. The idea is homage to Jeanne Lanvin’s part in the post-war Theatre de la Mode show, in which French couturiers showcased their designs through miniature dolls, due to the lack of fabric. Spring ’08 and Spring ’09 dolls are out now, and the newest collection will be out soon. Check www.franzcollection.com to find out where you can buy them!

How Much Would You Be Willing To Splurge On A Shearling Moto Jacket?

imageAs the air starts to get chilly and the leather moto jacket trend starts to get a little exhausted, designers are spicing things up — studs, built-in belts, and of course, fur and shearling-trimmed collars. As any avid shopper knows, not all trendy biker jackets are created equal… so how to choose? Here we break down a few collared options from opposite ends of the cost spectrum, because depending on your budget (or lack thereof) and your insatiable desire for brand names, a suspiciously good steal isn’t necessarily the way to go when you want an investment piece, yet spending a month’s rent on one wardrobe addition isn’t always in the cards either. Forever 21’s Fleece Trim Moto Jacket looks perfectly chic, especially with its appealing $34.80 price tag… but of course, it’s not real leather and I wouldn’t bet my life savings on how long the piece will last you. The Motorcycle Jacket with Faux Fur Trim by Aqua is genuine leather, but is the authentic material worth the extra $265.20? And of course, for those who won’t settle for anything less than the best, the Acne Rita 2 Jacket is convertible with its removable collar — meaning even more possibilities for long-term wearability. But it also comes at a price. A whopping $1130 price. Which moto jacket do you think is the wisest deal? Vote below on whether you’d save, splurge, or go the middle road… or just scrap the trend altogether!
