imageOk, I can’t be the only person who’s ecstatic about the return of Michael Kors as a judge on Project Runway, right? I didn’t know I could miss his clever and biting quips (“slutty slutty slutty” and “insane crotch” come to mind) more than Heidi Klum misses being pregnant. Michael Kors has the American sportswear market cornered with his sophisticated yet effortlessly styled clothing. So I wasn’t surprised when browsing through Sephora that he’s lent his name to various fragrances too. Of course, Michael understands the value of having something with multiple functions. His Very Hollywood Solid Perfume Cocktail Ring definitely fits the bill because it may look like a showstopping cocktail ring, but if you slide the gem over, it’s also a solid perfume. Nars Cosmetics Celebrates 15 Years With An Exclusive Celeb Photo Book!

imageFrancois Nars, creative director and founder of the iconic cosmetics company Nars, is celebrating 15 years of success with a new project that honors two of his favorite past times. As an avid photographer, Nars will release 15 portraits of specially selected celebrities wearing his products in a new, limited-edition pictorial. Each celebrity chose his or her own favorite Nars product and their photograph reflects the product’s inspiration. “15 x 15” will be sold exclusively at the project’s site for 30 days starting November 12th at 8 PM, with only 1,500 copies up for grabs. Each book costs $80, but all the proceeds will be donated to charities hand-picked by the celebrities featured. Some of the faces to look forward to include Marc Jacobs, Isabella Rossellini, Amber Valleta, Naomi Campbell, Olivier Theyskens, and Shalom Harlow. Just in time for the holidays, they’ve teamed up with acclaimed accessories designer Carlos Falchi for a limited edition handbag collection. The Carlos Falchi for Target collection includes all of the hottest handbag styles- hobos, satchels, shoulder, cross-body, and messenger bags in jewel tones such as plum and teal as well as rich hues such as brown, black and gray. The exotic collection features Falchi’s iconic collage techniques and python-inspired solid prints finished with intricate stitch detailing for fashionable styles that are still highly functional.

The line will be available at select Target stores and at Target.com November 1, 2009 through December 27, 2009 and prices range from $19.99 to $49.99- pretty amazing especially compared to the high-end line in which a single piece can cost $4,000!

Get Your Own “Little Miss Lanvin” Doll

imageJeanne Lanvin founded the fashion house we know as Lanvin in 1889. In 2001, Alber Elbaz took over as artistic director and the house has never been the same since. His designs grace the red carpet and hang in fashionista’s closets everywhere. Along with the gorgeous gowns, he incorporates cute “Little Miss Lanvin” illustrations on some cheeky t-shirts and sweaters. Now they’re stepping into 3-D. Lanvin has partnered up with the porcelain company Franz to make “Little Miss Lanvin” dolls. Each season there will be 6 new limited edition porcelain dolls, with just 800 released. Priced at $345 each, they each come packaged in Lanvin’s signature pale blue box. The idea is homage to Jeanne Lanvin’s part in the post-war Theatre de la Mode show, in which French couturiers showcased their designs through miniature dolls, due to the lack of fabric. How Much Would You Be Willing To Splurge On A Shearling Moto Jacket?

imageAs the air starts to get chilly and the leather moto jacket trend starts to get a little exhausted, designers are spicing things up — studs, built-in belts, and of course, fur and shearling-trimmed collars. As any avid shopper knows, not all trendy biker jackets are created equal… so how to choose? Here we break down a few collared options from opposite ends of the cost spectrum, because depending on your budget (or lack thereof) and your insatiable desire for brand names, a suspiciously good steal isn’t necessarily the way to go when you want an investment piece, yet spending a month’s rent on one wardrobe addition isn’t always in the cards either. Forever 21’s Fleece Trim Moto Jacket looks perfectly chic, especially with its appealing $34.80 price tag… but of course, it’s not real leather and I wouldn’t bet my life savings on how long the piece will last you. The Motorcycle Jacket with Faux Fur Trim by Aqua is genuine leather, but is the authentic material worth the extra $265.20? And of course, for those who won’t settle for anything less than the best, the Acne Rita 2 Jacket is convertible with its removable collar — meaning even more possibilities for long-term wearability.
