Hot In The Hive: Eyeko Cosmetics Vintage Nail Polish (Looks Just Like Chanel Jade!)

imageThinking back to the Chanel Fall 2009 runway show, I can’t really recall any of the details other than the colors of the models’ nails. Their bright jade green fingertips took my breath away and I knew it would be the next must-have nail polish color. Fast forward to present day and I’m still trying to find a suitable duplicate of the sold-out shade, so I have to say my heart raced more than a little when I encountered this tempting promotion from Eyeko Makeup. This super cute and affordable makeup company boasts a collection of eyeshadows, mascaras, lip glosses, and nail polish. I’ve tried their famous Eyeko Cream which gives me a iridescent glow when I don’t feel like putting on any makeup. I’ve returned yet again, to snag a few of their latest nail polishes and discovered they have their own version of a jade green nail polish called Vintage. Best part? It’s not even for sale! Haute Deal: Badgley Mischka-Style Sequin Pumps For Under $25!

Can’t Get Enough “Glee?” Check Out Our Pitch-Perfect Style Guide And Dress Like Your Favorite Gleek

imageI was having a conversation a few weeks ago with a friend about our TV-watching habits. While he’s watching crime dramas and more serious fare, I’ve been solely dedicated to fashion favorite “Project Runway” (of course!) and musical hit “Glee.” I’ve always been a sucker for musicals and musicals plus high school makes it even better. While some of the plot lines can be pretty outrageous, there’s no denying that all the actors are super talented and also have some pretty savvy fashion sense. My three favorite characters of the show, Rachel Berry, Mercedes Jones, and Sue Sylvester all have their own unique sense of style, and although fashion is far from the show’s focus, it’s certainly worth noticing. Rachel’s preppy style with schoolboy blazers and cable-knit sweaters exemplify her character’s perfectionism. On the other side, Miss “diva-in-training” Mercedes always wears bright colors and has plenty of bling too. Lastly, Sue may be a tough cookie and wears those Adidas tracksuits like they’re going out of style, but her unapologetic attitude is a reminder that we should always be confident in ourselves.
