WhatsWear Finds Glasses Just Like Buddy Holly… But “Better”

imageJee Vice’s founder and designer, Philippe Vergez, started the brand with the intention of creating beautiful statement pieces that have a “firm yet subtle Baroque ‘n Roll attitude” for women. Numerous celebrities have gravitated toward his bold sunglasses (there’s no way you didn’t see Carrie Bradshaw wearing those fabulous orange shades), which are sold in over 25 countries. Now Vergez is ready to take the plunge into the world of prescription frames. His sunglasses have always drawn inspiration from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, but wait until you see what he’s come up with now. Being that Jee Vice is only a six-year-old company, it is impossible for the illustrious brand to release a collection of vintage frames. You may say that what they are doing (that is, to create a vintage-inspired collection) is the next best thing. Jee Vice, however, begs to differ — it’s not the next best thing; it’s better. In fact, “Better” is the name of one of the three styles in the “Revisited Collection.” Each style is a modern replica of a popular ’50s shape and comes in six different color schemes. 10 Nifty Gifts For The Gamer Girl (Or Guy!)

imageI may have my girlie-girl tendencies, but the truth is, I’m a no-mercy kinda gal when it comes to gaming. I can play Rock Band with the rest of ’em and I’ll beat your boyfriend’s high score three times over! Video game gifts, as long as the recipient isn’t totally opposed to gaming (if you know someone that is, they’ve clearly never played Mario Party), are the perfect present: you don’t need to know anyone’s size, and it won’t end up in a reject pile of tacky Christmas sweaters. Plus, getting to unwrap an actual toy totally brings back warm memories of being a kid on Christmas day, annihilating all shreds of gift wrap in your path to get to the goods. Help the person on your list banish boredom with their own Nintendo DSi console, or if the person in mind already has every system and game known to man, help them accessorize with a new case! Skim through the slideshow to see my favorite video game gifts this year!

LimeLife Is Oohing And Ahhing Over Betsey Johnson Jewelry!

imageWhether or not you’re a fan of Betsey Johnson’s clothing line, I can almost guarantee you’ll be a fan of her jewelry. Betsey Johnson’s designs tend to be a little bit out there; people either love or hate them. While you’re probably used to hearing “wild” and “crazy” in conjunction with Betsey’s name, her jewelry is actually much more delicate (believe it or not!) than the rest of her designs and there’s definitely something for everyone when it comes to the necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and more. Plus, while Betsey Johnson’s clothes might be out of many of our price ranges, her jewelry is pretty inexpensive. I’m especially a fan of the little mittens necklace (only $35!) and love that it’s perfect for making winter time a little bit brighter. Check out our friends at LimeLife for more fun winter finds and finish writing your holiday wishlist!

10 Non-Black Wool Coats To Brighten Your Winter Days

imageWhether I’m browsing the racks at my favorite department stores, window shopping online, or even just people watching on the streets, I’ve noticed that there’s an abundance of black wool coats out there. I have no major complaints about black since 80% of my wardrobe is black, but I hesitate in wearing a warm winter coat that matches the dreariness of the weather. I see the bleak weather as a chance to stand out from the crowd with a brightly colored wool coat that will cheer up the blackest (hah, get it?) of moods. If you’re looking for a classic piece that will last for years, try the Aireshire tartan wool coat by Aubin & Wills. For something a little unexpected, I really like the Ombre Horizon coat from J.Crew which goes from dark brown from the bottom to a light taupe up top. Bag Of The Week: The ‘Efram’ Hobo by Tory Burch

imageDesigner Tory Burch may be best known for her signature logo on flats seen on every uptown girl last year but did you know that she also designs clothes, bags and jewelry? Her designs are always classic and understated (and that doesn’t mean boring!) and can take you from brunch with your friends to a romantic date at night. One of her latest designs really caught my eye and I’m trying to impress Santa right now so he’ll bring me one for the holidays. The leather Efram Hobo may look plain and unassuming head on, but tilt it a bit and there are square metal pailettes (aka sequins) on both sides! The roomy interior is big enough for all your daily essentials and can even fit file folders and most laptops. The sequins mean that you can do a quick outfit change and take the bag for a night out on the town too.

What: the Efram Hobo by Tory Burch
Price: $550
Where to Buy: Shopbop
Who: facadeindreams was the first to add the Efram Hobo by Tory Burch to the Hive.

Stylehive’s Stylescopes Make You The Holiday Belle With Shining Cocktail Rings!

imageI’m starting to hear the sleigh bells jingle as people are planning all sorts of holiday parties. With so many of us gathering together with family and loved ones, things are going to get a little chaotic, but in the most cheerful and festive way. The power of the stars are especially influential on these clear winter nights! Some of us, including the ever social Aquarius, will be attending numerous holiday functions and loving every minute of it, while others, like comfort-loving Tauruses, will enjoy intimate soirees with familiar faces the best. No matter what, most of us will be joining festivities with other holiday party goers at office parties, family functions or maybe the neighborhood potluck so we’ll be donning our festive apparel and trying to stand out in a sea of seasonal sparkle and shine. Be a little different and swath yourself in a classic silhouette instead and show your sparkle through a shiny cocktail ring! Click on the slideshow to see which bright bauble the stars have found for you!

Lingerie Gifts Any Gal Can Enjoy, Whether She’s Naughty Or Nice!

imageYou may have watched this month’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show with an ice cream spoon in your hand and an envious glare on your face, but if truth be told, it doesn’t require a Marisa Miller body to enjoy sexy lingerie. So why not consider gifting some super-cute skivvies to the ladies on your list this year? Since we spend so much time covered up (after all, there are too many cute trends this season that require actual clothing), undies are often overlooked when it comes to gift-giving… but if you ask me, they’re totally underrated in the realm of presents! Beyond the hassle of guesstimating sizes, you really can’t go wrong with cute undies, a matching two-piece set, or even a slinky cami — it’s like gifting instant confidence and granting the recipient freedom from those hellish lines at VS. Whether you’re looking for a luxe lingerie set or just a cheeky stocking stuffer, lingerie gifts are they way to go for the ladies you’re close to… just maybe not your boss, unless you’re trying to be awkward. Check the slideshow for the full sultry selection — both naughty and nice!

Recession Chic: Holiday Party Dresses Under $50

imageAside from all the packages that have been coming to my door (90% are Christmas gifts for my friends and family, I swear!) I’ve also been receiving invitations to holiday parties for most of the month through the new year. While I never subscribe to the rule “never wear the same thing twice,” I certainly don’t want to be seen wearing the same thing all month. So it’s definitely time to find a few party dresses that look chic and won’t break the bank. After all, it’s not fun when someone gets clumsy and spills red wine all over a $200+ dress, right? I can always count on one of my favorites brands, BB Dakota, which always has affordable options for night and day. I’m really liking the Domani Dress for a fresh burst of color. For something a little sexier, Victoria’s Secret has got you covered with the One-shoulder Bra Top dress. Check out my slideshow for more party dresses that will have you set for all your holiday bashes.
