Teen-Friendly Gifts They Won’t Roll Their Eyes At

imageYou remember what it’s like to be a teen, whether it really was only yesterday or it just seems like it. Bored, moody, rebellious, mad at the world — especially mad at your parents. Okay, just kidding about most of that description, but really — when you’re no longer in high school, it can be hard to relate to those who still are, which makes it really tough to pick out a thoughtful gift they’ll actually enjoy. Despite what you may hear in the news, not every teenager is obsessed with “Twilight,” so your search isn’t always as easy as stopping by your neighborhood Hot Topic. So what is “all the rage” these days? First of all, not saying “all the rage,” and secondly, it’s about tapping into a general interest. If you know the teen at hand loves music, this portable USB turntable plugs directly into their laptop so they can start testing their skills as resident DJ. Or if you’ve got a future “Project Runway” contestant in the fam, gift a fashion designer start-up kit to get their creative juices flowing. Take a look at the slideshow for the selection of fool-proof gifts for teens!

Hot In The Hive: Vosges Haut Chocolat Mini Exotic Chocolate Bar Library

imageWhat’s a good way to relax and spend some quality quiet time alone this winter? Curling up with a good book under a snuggly comforter near the fireplace and maybe sipping on something hot and sweet. What would make this cozy scenario even better? If the books themselves were made of chocolate. While not all of us may love literature, we can all appreciate chocolate bars! Vosges Haut Chocolat is a high-quality candy company that makes everything from classic truffles to wild chocolates like the legendary Bacon Bar. The Vosges Haut Chocolat Mini Chocolate Library comes with a selection of tastes including classic milk and dark as well as an exotic flavors collection that include Oaxaca and something known only as “Woolloomooloo.” This mini chocolate bar library comes in a cute box with a ribbon and definitely resembles a row of books… until you open each of the individually wrapped bars and devour them. It’s a perfect gift or stocking stuffer for the chocolate lover/bookworm in your life!

Bake Christmas Cookies In Style In An Adorable Anthropologie Apron!

imageYes, I do a little bit of baking. I’ll even cook at times if I need to. While I’m not claiming to be a domestic goddess by any means, I can at least look the part while preparing for upcoming holiday parties. Recently I made a fantastic purchase in hopes of it inspiring me to become an overnight chef success. Anthropologie’s 3-D Toile Full Apron is a pretty sweet deal! It’s not your grandmother’s “kitchenwear” either. The apron I bought has gorgeous ruffles and ruching; I found myself not wanting to take it off when I was done baking. I wore it this past Thanksgiving, while I whipped up my pumpkin gingerbread trifle. My dessert was a hit, but that didn’t mean I came out of the kitchen unharmed. Thank god the apron was machine washable! Holiday cookie time is upon us, and I plan on wearing it to protect my clothing. The apron is so cute; I swear it makes me want to find another excuse to wear it. Maybe I’ll attempt a roast… with the number of a good take-out places within my reach! Head over to WhatsWear for more festive finds for a fashionable holiday season!

Holiday Gift Ideas For Your Most Fashionable Friend!

imageThere’s at least one in every group — the girl who loves all things designer. Maybe it’s you, or maybe there’s more than one fashionista in your pack of friends, but no matter how many pals you have with high-end taste, you can’t simply afford to break the bank for a bunch of big-name big purchases in the midst of gift-shopping mayhem. The solution isn’t always to go the Forever 21 route (though as a bargain shopper I’m always a fan) — you’d be surprised how many cute holiday-friendly designer trinkets you can get for under $200! For example, this cute heart key ring may come in a blue Tiffany box, but it really doesn’t cost an arm and a leg! And cozy winter-festive gifts like these Michael Kors gloves and these adorable Burberry earmuffs prove that designer names can be practical for the season and aren’t just for show! Browse through the slideshow for 10 gift ideas that could make even Anna Wintour smile!

CollegeCandy Helps Find The Perfect (and Stretchy) Outfits For Your Thanksgiving Dinner!

imageThe two things I love most about fall are the food and the fashion, which means Thanksgiving is a major jackpot. I get to dress up all cute and stuff my face with turkey. It’s wonderful… for the first ten minutes. Then my stomach begins to protrude over my skintight mini and I start having a hard time breathing. Undoubtedly I end up taking an intermission, putting on my stretchy sweatpants, then heading back for seconds. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s possible to look cute and eat until you’re curled up on the couch in a food coma. You just have to choose your outfit wisely. I’ve combed through this season’s hottest trends and built outfits that are holiday appropriate, both in how they look and how they stretch to fit the 5 lbs of stuffing you will inevitably inhale. And I’m sure enjoying Thanksgiving dinner without the need to unbutton your pants at the table is something we can all be thankful for this year.
