Brian Gossett is a designer, illustrator, art director, and teacher in Santa Monica, working across all kinds of media. Have a look at his portfolio stuff here, his heist-inspired music mixes (free to download) here, and a wicked mood board he put together (relating to the heist-iness of his compilations) here.

Online hand-made jewellery store by artist/writer Cori Crooks (also see my earlier post of her new book). I am in love with these little tile earrings that she makes – based mainly on Mexican Talavera tile designs.

ADDIKT

They’re an Amsterdam firm, the pic is from a relaunch they did for Sebastian hairdresser hair-products. It was a pretty big show that featured huge wrap around screens (watch the reel here). Addikt designed the stage and all the on-screen content. They also just released their new website, so have a look.

Johnny Kelly

Paper animations and photography have really blown up lately. Kelly’s definitely not the first to explore this area, but he’s still doing some really interesting work (particularly liking his more recent ‘Democracy’ and ‘The Seed’). There’s an interview up on Don’t Panic, check his site to see more.

Some great collage work, if you check it out I’m sure you’ll recognize some of the pieces about half way down the main page (they saw some circulation a couple months back on a few different sites). His work was recently mentioned on Fecal Face and it reminded me how awesome he is. Really like the paint brush textures (not shown above, but check them out on his site).

Traditional English jelly is apparently enjoying a renaissance across the UK. What a fun medium to work/play with. The company “Bompas & Parr” is increasingly asked by private and corporate clients to create one-off jelly moulds for special events. According to their website:

“Jellies make superb centrepieces. The Victorians used jellies to decorate their tables for dinner parties. As people jogged the table they would wobble entertainingly. There is arguably an erotic quality to the quiver. Once the other courses were finished the jellies were removed to a sideboard and served to the guests.”

Lunchbox Modern

Made for kids and me, this modern lunchbox made by Oots sure beats the recycled grocery bag… oh, and it’s Dutch of course.

All materials used are food safe and kid-friendly: made from BPA-free and phthalate-free polypropylene and safety tested for lead. The lunch box and containers are dishwasher safe (top rack) and the containers can be used in a microwave.
