Here you have it the best ECO-friendly sheepskins and Buffalo hides … and they are a real addition to any interior. I have them at home too and LOVE them. People often think they go better in colder climates or are more suite-able for winter and yes of course they keep you incredibly warm in winter but they look just as beautiful in a tropical climate like ours in Singapore as they do in a beautiful summer patio!

Iceland and the US is where Black Sheep white light sources the rugs and throws from. Have you ever been to Iceland? I did and it is magical … totally different from all other countries …. slow living is something these Icelandic people understand very well.

Milan 2013 a round-up

Milaan_1

Good morning it is Femke from Femkeido and it's so nice to be here on Bloesem today. Being an Interior Designer, Milan was the
place to be again last week. I traveled to Milan to be inspired at the Salone
del Mobile for the Milan Design Week. In this guest-post for Bloesem, I will be
sharing some of my pictures I took during my visit.

According to Tom Dixon Gold is the new copper .. what do you think?

The buzz at Rosanna Orlandi was cool as always. The best place to start my trip!

Georg

I love things colour and weird things… the table setting by my favorite design duo Scholten & Baijngs for Georg at Rosanna Orlandi was exactly my piece of cake.

Great to meet Sander Mulder in person at Tom Dixon. You can see him below walking towards his new clock,  TIME, to give it a polish using his own shirt.

Greens and plants we all love them so it was nice seeing some at wallpaper handmade this year.

Mirrors, many mirrors. I love mirrors, I also like the philosophy of mirrors. It is important to have a look in the mirror every now and then. To see what you’re doing and to decide whether you are taking the right steps. In the picture below a mirror at Droog 20+ and a just a random mirror in Ventura Lambrate.

Milan was again great to visit. Very interesting and inspiring over at my blog Femkeido you can read and see more impressions from my trip. ~ Femke

Scale Collection

Modular carpeting takes floors to new geometric heights
scale1.jpg

DIY home renovation can be a creatively fulfilling pastime, but hammering and rolling carpet is one daunting task. German textile producer Vorwerk offers a stylish solution with its modular carpeting collection called Scale. The assorted sizes transform any space’s “fifth facade of architecture” but make installation easy.

Scale comes in three aptly titled categories—Greyscale, Colorscale and Freescale. With a wide assortment of textures and patterns, Greyscale and Colorscale keep it interesting but streamlined with a mix of four short and long rectangular shapes.

Freescale consists of more unique shapes designed to link seamlessly for an endless variety of orientations, from the elegant to the Escher-esque. The Crystal, Mesh and Partition shapes resembles obscure geometric designs more likely found on junior high math tests than under your feet, but with 16 different colors to choose from the only limitation of what you can accomplish is your own imagination.

Whether you have a penchant for geometry or want to transform you floor into a colorful maze, Vorwerk’s high quality carpeting allows you freedom to create one-of-a-kind floors. The Scale collection sells from Vorwerk locations and retailers around the world.

Grey flooring I like…

Hello Monday and hello to you too…hope you had a lovely weekend? I was reading an old Elle Decoration UK during the weekend when my eyes were captured by these images from Ver of course I had to do some research online and see whether I could find more…and my search brought me to the fabulous LoftLifeMag site and of course to OWI, the multipacked iinterior design gallery.

I wish I could have a floor like that in our rental place here in KL…the tiles are just awful and really hirt my eyes and I feel that the floor doesn't do anyjustice to our beautiful furniture…we are considering asking the landlord to allow us to paint these tiles in the same glossy grey as in these images…perhaps showing him them will help?
