We just launched a new site celebrating the yellow-clad hero of pressure treated pine: YellaFella, Yellawood’s ambassador of quality building products. Be sure to check out the "Fight the Bad Guy" part if you’re having a tough week and need someone to take it out on. YellaFella launched his first series of commercials about his Adventures in Rotwood. We produced the website over a few short months, working with actors, musicians, cowboys, animators and the 3d effects gurus- The Westside Collective. I helped with art direction and the flash. Aaron did the front-end design work. Check out YellaFella.com

alt= //ppMade of walnut and acrylic, this butterfly wall hanger reminds you that spring is only a couple of months away. It’s been dreary the last few days here in LA. There’s a reason we pay these high rents. I want my 72 and sunny./p

alt= //ppI try my best to hang on to business cards people give me even if I don’t expect to ever have need of them. It’s a sensitivity in me that feels the person went to the trouble of handing it to me so I shouldn’t just toss it immediately in the trash. Though I do. At least with this a href=http://ex49.com/products/content/view/92/56/business card tree/a I can keep the cards around a little longer. The added benefit of it being somewhat decorative and also helping me stay organized meshes perfectly with my eased conscience. |via a href=http://www.swiss-miss.com/2009/02/babel-business-card-tree.htmlSwissMiss/a|br //p
Nouveau concept très original du designer David Gonçalves : un vélo électrique et pliable qui se recharge grâce à l’énergie produite lors du freinage. Baptisé GrassHopper, il est également possible de l’utiliser comme vélo d’appartement pour le recharger.

alt= //ppI’ve always been fascinated by mules, the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. There’s a difference of 2 chromosomes between the two species, 62 for donkeys and 64 for horses, yet they can still reproduce with each other. Mules, though, are sterile because of the chromosomal difference. My fascination with this phenomenon isn’t because I have some overly strong affection for farm animals but because I believe one day we’re going to encounter intelligent life from elsewhere in the universe. Yes, alien sex is what I’m talking about. Wouldn’t that be cool? If we encountered other intelligent life and reproduced with them? What kinds of beings would we produce? And would they look anything like this a href=http://www.ibride.fr/ibride_en.htmmule storage/a unit? |via a href=http://design-milk.com/martin-the-mule/Design Milk/a|br //p
Ever wonder what things are like down under? As if you didn’t already wish you were in the land of Oz, just one look at awesome Aussie designer Maurie and Eve’s collection and you’ll be ready to book your next vacation. This Australian label already has a pretty sweet history, having been inspired by the love of designer Kelly Davies’ grandparents, but it’s seen through by the camaraderie of family, (brother Scott) and like family, Maya Clemmensen (Scott’s girlfriend). The clothes are definitely a far cry from any Crocodile Dundee undertones and are the ultimate in chic fashion. Each piece calls out its own bold character, as it’s beach and bohemian-driven with a bit of an 80’s edge. Their lovely pieces exude a free-spirited confidence that will have you greeting your friends with “G’day” and insisting that they call you Sheila. So, calling all trendy US style-lovers — allow us to introduce you to a down under designer that’s most definitely blossoming. Click READ MORE to a sneak peak at the designers’ fun personalities in their interview, and see some of their many addictive looks in the slideshow!

alt= //ppThe Dancing Chair from designer a href=http://www.constanceguisset.com/Constance Guisset/a suggests a feeling of fluid and rhythmic movement. Its flowing lines and open structure makes it seem more an architectural piece than something to sit in and rock upon. Makes me want to put on my goggles and take a flight of fantasy into a good book. |via a href=http://www.contemporist.com/2009/02/09/dancing-chair-by-constance-guisset/Contemporist/a|br //p
