RedBall visits Toronto
Posted in: UncategorizedNew York-based artist Kurt Perschke’s RedBall travelling art project explores urban spaces and architectural history through the curious trope of a giant red ball. You can discover more about the artist and his work here.
The first two pictures below are from the Redball’s tour of Barcelona and the third captures the sculpture making its way through a Sydney railway station.
The RedBall exhibition has its Canadian premiere in Toronto, June 5 -14 (sneak peek below). For more information on where to see the ball live in action in the big city, click here.
Perspective and imagination
Posted in: UncategorizedThe Balloon Project
Posted in: UncategorizedIn the spring of 2009 under the creative direction of artist Colin Menzies and photographer Wilmer Aburto, a group of children from the Boys & Girls Club of Calgary were inspired to create a world of their own. Each child was presented with the question, “If this balloon was magical, and could fly you away to any other world – what would that world look like in your imagination?” The young artists then added their own illustrations to the photographic portraits. The project will be exhibited with the Creative Kids Museum Exhibit at the Science Centre in Calgary from May 21st to June 25, 2009.

Glacial Erratics
Posted in: Uncategorized
Glacial Erratics is the occasional paper blog (affectionately called as a “plog”©) written by my husband Glen Dresser. I designed the first edition which was published last May and it features Lisa Brawn’s woodcuts and folds out to reveal a poster of Queen Elizabeth. In addition to excerpts from Glen’s second novel, Glacial Erratics includes an interview with our friend Correy Baldwin, poet and publisher, as well as musings on the creative writing process.
