Sit and Feel the Burn!

The U-Stool’s signature “U” shape is functional in getting the user to work their abdomen and legs to balance the rocking seat. This healthier method of active-sitting actually makes it easier to sit for longer periods of time by keeping the user shifting, thereby reducing strain on the back and hips. The user might burn more energy while seated, but  the design’s eco-friendly construction and production process cut back on its own energy consumption! It’s even compostable at the end of its life cycle!

Designers: Richard Clarkson, Zena Verda Pesta and Clay Kippen

The Rubik’s Cube of Chairs

The multifunctional Cubel seating design utilizes a series of folding cubes to allow the user to mold it to their needs. In just seconds, it can be transformed into a bench, chaise lounge, pouf, table, or even a bed! Cleverly placed velcro strips hold everything together no matter the configuration. Better yet, there’s also a Mini Cubel  for compact spaces!

Squiggly Seating

The shape of the Sissi chair pictured here is just one of a number of ways it can be reshaped to your heart’s content! The continuous design is composed of stress-resistant polyurethane foam on a metal frame that forms the seat and leg as well as a flexible arm that can be used as a backrest or working surface depending on how you sit! With lots of vibrant color options, it’ll add an abstract pop to any space.

The Gumby of Chairs

The first in a collection of “editable” furnishings, the Aleaf chaise lounge might first appear rigid with its sinuous, continuous form, but it’s mysteriously flexible! An internal framework of bendable supports make it possible to shape to the user’s liking. Use the arm as workstation or a custom-bend it for your relaxation!

A Chair We’d Like to Nom Nom

As you might guess by the name, the Candy Chair was inspired by designer Jeong Yong’s insatiable sweet tooth! Shapes taken from his sugary favorites give it a soft, inviting aesthetic. It’s probably a good thing it’s not actually edible… because it looks deliciously lemon in bright yellow.

The Devil’s Chair Animation
