Half the Bike, Double the Fun

Halfbike brings you a completely new experience. It’s a vehicle that combines running and cycling, which turns out to be remarkably exciting and fun for getting around the city. A bicycle revised both in terms of size and functionality, a new kind of personal vehicle designed with rider experience in mind. Halfbike is light, compact and simple. You stand upright and turn simply by leaning your body. The ride is so smooth it almost feels like you’re gliding! See it in action —>

The Empire State Building Made from Bicycle Tracks

Bicycle Lights of the Near Future

The Arc taillight makes ordinary strobing LEDs seem not only outdated but almost unsafe! This revolutionary design finally addresses the issues left/right signaling and even braking for added security on the road. For brake signaling, the system tracks wheel speed to alert other vehicles when slowing. As for turning, wireless activated handlebar signals indicate the intended direction with riders hands firmly in place. A must-have for day and nighttime riders alike!

Be a Supahero… Safely

“Sporty Supaheroe” is a stylish cycling jacket for the urban warrior! This new kind of digital apparel proves that safety gear doesn’t have to look lame. Using stretchable circuit board technology, it offers improved visibility and security in the dark with bright LEDs.

The circuit board is made out of thermoplastic polyurethane, onto which meander-shaped copper conductors are applied. Therefore, the circuit board can easily be integrated into textiles by lamination.

Hunting Trophies

The Power of Cross X

The Cross X is a low-cost hybrid bicycle designed for the rapidly urbanizing countries. It hopes to be that mode of transport, which is cost-effective, traffic beating and personal. Its potential in two contexts – medical emergencies and large campuses; I’m thinking campuses like Apple or Google, perhaps!

Details:

  • The hybrid design of Cross X means electric power can help paramedics to reach to such remote areas in time.
  • Paramedics can store a medical emergency response kit in the built-in storage compartment of Cross X; also they can use its battery power to operate communication and other devices.
  • Corporates and big colleges are converting their campuses into sustainable ones through a reduction in fossil fuel usage.
  • The ergonomic design of Cross X will make riding stress free and enjoyable for staff and students.

Cross X is a 2013 Red Dot Award: Design Concept Winner.

Third Eye for Cyclists

With more and more urban dwellers opting for bicycles over cars, it’s to be expected that more riding accidents between regular traffic and cyclists will occur. The Safeye system adds an additional layer of protection to riders by giving them a view of following traffic. The system detects when an object (such as a car) has approached from behind, first alerting to the rider with tactile vibration in the handles, and then on their smartphone with a live video feed from the rear facing camera.
