Dolce & Gabbana Launch Luxury Cosmetics Line

image Dolce & Gabbana, one of the world’s top luxury brands, has launched its much-anticipated cosmetics line for early next month. By adding this line, the company will now be a full-fledged beauty house and will be competing with other high-end make-up lines. Dolce & Gabbana already has a very successful fragrance line, so a cosmetics line was a natural next step. Stefano Gabbana stated, while being interviewed by WWD in his elaborately richly decorated drawing room of his office, that he and Domenico Dolce have wanted to do make-up for years now. It’s a new direction unlike fragrance. The inspiration for the make-up is derived from the collections. “We see make-up as another thing for women, like a dress. We worked on the line like we worked on a clothing collection- you can change make-up like you change your clothes, depending on your mood,” Gabbana added. Hot In The Hive: Cat Cosmetics Smolder Eye Pencil

imageWhen it comes to testing out new beauty products, I’m my own guinea pig. I’ll try anything once, which is most likely the most logical explanation for all of my busted-at-the-seams makeup bags, overflowing with a whole slew of rainbow shades I’ve hardly given a second look at. This compulsion towards all things cosmetic is also the reason why I almost tripped over myself in excitement at the chance to try Cat Cosmetics Smolder Eye Pencil, a double-ended 2-in-1 shadow/liner duo designed for achieving dramatic bedroom eyes on the go. After all, if I were to favor any kind of makeup over the rest, anything that can be described as both “smokey” and “2-in-1” would certainly top the list. The verdict? Despite the helpful application suggestions that come with it, the cream-based bronze shadow end is a little tough to blend for maximum “smolder” effect, but because of its no-budge formula, the product makes an awesome smudge-free liner duo!

This is a fabulous lipstick kit that allows you to pair the perfect pout for every makeup look you choose to do. The kit comes with a nude lip liner and four fabulous shades. A great palette that offers six vibrant eyeshadows, three vivacious t5 infused lipglosses and a bamboo eyeshadow brush. My favorite part of this palette has to be the eyeshadows. They are finely milled and go on amazingly smooth. I use the gold shadow almost daily it’s just so gorgeous paired with black liner and Dior Show mascara.
