The boyfriend cardigan is a great transition item from cooler to warmer temps. It’s the perfect sweater to throw on as an afterthought when you need something to keep you a bit warmer, and it’s great as a staple top, too. Okay, so none of my boyfriends have ever worn cardigans (I tried to get one to try the look, actually, and he would have none of it!), so it may not be aptly named. But who cares what it’s called as long as it looks cute?! The idea is that it’s a bit over-sized, slouchy, comfy and cozy, and that’s all that matters! The opportunities with this piece are endless. It can be thrown over a spring-y dress, or paired with a t-shirt and jeans. It’s a great way to add a warmer layer to a shift dress, and it goes well with tights, denim, boots, flats, even heels. Try the look with a more winter-themed outfit, or go for something lighter. There are all different colors and patterns to suit your whim, but even one or two staple colors will work just fine.
