Our galley kitchen in Brooklyn Heights may not be spacious enough to eat in, but it allows me to fantasize that I am a line cook at Momofuku; stainless-steel cooking station, marble-countertop prep area, concealed dishwasher drawers, and a massive fridge are all within easy reach. The only thing I would have done differently is source a larger and deeper sink (see below) to stash dinner-party dishes. N.B. For custom metal doors like the one shown below, Product and Design Metalwork in the Brooklyn Navy Yard does exceptional work. And for storage, our architect, Steven Harris, specified custom-designed cabinets made from Glacier White Corian.
