New York Fashion Week Runway: Miss Sixty Brings Back the 80’s

For the Miss Sixty Fall 2009 collection, creative director and co-founder Wichy Hassan found inspiration in the excess and exuberance of the 80’s. This collection was centered around being bold, tough, and edgy with glimmers of femininity to smooth out the rough surface. There was denim galore in an array of cuts and washes with jeans that ranged form skinny to slouchy, as well as acid washed dresses and jumpers. This collection wasn’t only about the denim though. Adding to the blend were sexy leather jackets and pants, graphic printed tees, fun tops and a wide range of sexy cocktail frocks ranging from the minimal and chic to the wild and outlandish. The looks were all about bold mixing and the balancing of excess and perfectly captured the spirit of a decade filled with hope, optimism, and of course, outrageous fashions. Want to see more?
