New York Fashion Week Runway: London Dandyism Walks The Z Zegna Runway

If Sherlock Holmes were in need of a new wardrobe, the Z Zegna Fall 2009 collection would be his go-to label. With a straight-forward bespoke style, creative director Alessandro Sartori introduces us to 21st century dandyism with modified bowler hats, heavy topcoats and finely tuned suits. Ties went wider and almost took on the look of ascots, while shoulders were broad and confident. The heavy fabrics were very fall-appropriate and blatantly a look of masculine elegance, but adding a little zest with those palettes to some of the coats wasn’t the best detail to make it suitable for the everyday man. Even so, the sophisticated looks were the embodiment of the dapper man. How do I know this? Elementary, my dear Watson.
