New York Fashion Week Runway: Erin Fetherston Is Fit For Living Dolls

It’s hard to mention Erin Fetherston without thinking of her whimsical and fantastical take on fashion. Her Fall 2009 collection was no different, but was a definite departure from her usual wispy ethereal dresses her devoted fans love. Instead, Fetherston threw in a little bit harlequin, toy soldier, and wild carnival themes. It may seem a little dark and sinister, but everything from the structured teacup shaped skirts to clown striped tights still had classic Erin Fetherston charm. A standout look was a black swing coat with a large bow accent and black leather trim accessorized with black leather driving gloves. Wondering who made those glittery animal masks worn atop the models’ heads? They were the work of Fetherston’s fiance, Hedi Ferjani. Black-red lipstick and layered crimped hair pulled into a loose bun are some of the ways to incorporate Fetherston’s living doll lifestyle without breaking your bank this coming fall.
