New York Fashion Week F/W 2010: The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection

imageA red dress is never forgotten, which is why The Heart Truth has designated the red dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness. Every year since its launch eight years ago, the Red Dress has taken to the runways in a celebrity-filled fashion show. Select dresses from the collection are then auctioned off to the public, the proceeds of which will benefit the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health to increase awareness and fund research for women’s heart health (heart disease is currently the #1 killer of women in the United States.) This year’s show featured models and celebs painting the runways red in crimson dresses of every style imaginable, from figure-hugging to flouncy. There was certainly no shortage of attitude- bright smiles and effervescent poses added a refreshing twist to the usual fashion week fare.

See the slideshow for a glimpse at the collection, and let it inspire you to take care our your heart- it’s the best Valentine’s Day gift you could give yourself! Then, click over to Elle to even more from The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection.
