New York Fashion Week F/W 2010: BCBGMAXAZRIA

imageDespite the blow of the devastating McQueen news this morning, the fall fashion week kick-off continued with the BCBGMAXAZRIA Fall/Winter 2010 collection. With a notably muted color palette save for the occasional pops of saffron, blue, and silver, the show boasted a series of looks that were cozy-chic yet streamlined. Voluminous open cardigans and dresses were given shape with leather belts while floaty skirts and cashmere tops were updated with pleats and sequins. The luxurious yet lightweight fabrics allowed for structured draping without adding too much bulk or limiting subtle movement, giving the appearance that the garments were simply gliding down the runway. But despite the overall more relaxed styles, evening looks weren’t forgotten — a crowd favorite was a subtly sparkly sequined halter dress that was winterized with white tights and ankle-strap boots. Check out some fresh-off-the-runway photos in the slideshow!
