New York Fashion Week F/W 2010: Andy & Debb

imageAndy & Debb, founded by design duo Andy Kim and Debbie Yoon, is a fairly young company that made its debut in the United States in Fall 2009, after starting their label in Seoul in 1999. Their Fall 2010 collection featured lots of leather, large buckles, and luxurious furs. While I’m not a huge fan of fur, I was impressed with the unique way of using the controversial material. A few mink coats were tiered in a way that looked like shingles of a house! Another favorite of mine was the gingko biloba leaf prints, shown on a jacket and dress. Like a lot of shows this season, metallic accents, sequins, and anything that shimmers is still in full force for next fall. Similarly, it’s all about the no makeup look with just highlights on the cheeks and natural pink lips.

Trends: Sculptural furs, nature inspired prints, cropped pants, metallic accents
Celebs: Devon Aoki, Leigh Lezark
