New York Fashion Week F/W 2010: ADAM

imageDesigner Adam Lippes’ Fall 2010 collection was inspired by a painting by Isca Greenfield-Sanders that featured a parachute floating downward into a darkness. This inspiration catapulted a collection that played with color and texture. A recurring theme I saw was the mix of long airy chiffon skirts with knit sweaters. Metallic accents are becoming a common sight for next fall, as suggested by metallic embroidery across a fitted bustier dress or as a shoulder accent. One of my favorite pieces of outerwear I’ve seen so far at the tents was an olive grey anorak with coyote fur lining. Since this Fashion Week has been the coldest I’ve experienced in New York, I expect many chic women will gravitate towards that jacket or many of his other fur lined outerwear. All the models sported fishtail braids with a slight poof on top of their crown that almost mimics a mohawk. The makeup reflected the earthtones of the collection with sweeps of brown eyeshadow over the eyelids.
