Look For Less: Chanel Spring 2010 Clogs
Posted in: UncategorizedThe last time I even thought about clogs, I was 8 years old and only thought they were cool because they were Dutch and made clacking sounds when I walked, meaning they sounded like the high heels I wasn’t yet allowed to wear (which obviously made them even cooler). Fast forward to now, where Chanel‘s reinterpretation of the classic shoe has catapulted it into chic must-have territory thanks to pearly white leather, round studs, and of course, a platform heel. But seeing as a four-figure price tag is too much for what is really a case of sartorial nostalgia exacerbated by a chronic addiction to platforms, I set out to find a suitable doppelganger. Jeffrey Campbell’s “Charli” clogs ($178) are pretty close and even feature a convertible buckle strap so you can wear them as slingbacks. I can see them paired with floaty lace dresses and light wash denim jackets… how would you wear them? Photos: PR Photos, Free People |
