While fedoras and trilbies (almost the same — trilbies have a shorter rim) by themselves are reminiscent of a gun-toting lackey in a Humphrey Bogart film circa 1930, nowadays they’ve been helping the ladies channel their inner film noir gangster — just as far as looking mysterious, of course. Plus, talk about the ultimate quick fix for a bad hair day! Keep it classic with a grey felt version from J. Crew, or go fancy with it in sequins and velour thanks to designer Eugenia Kim. Since the trend is so rapidly rising — especially with the spring-friendly straw varieties — nearly everyone can rock a trilby, not just those risk-taking fashionistas who seem to be able to pull off everything.
