LCD Soundsystem + more great new videos

A number of excellent videos have passed through CR Towers of late – here’s a selection of our favourites. First up, a group of mischievous pandas run riot in this Spike Jonze-helmed promo for LCD Soundsystem’s Drunk Girls.

Director Dougal Wilson draws inspiration from the dreaded cross country runs that have afflicted many a British schoolchild in this charming vid for Love Lost by The Temper Trap.

Saam Farahmand has directed this promo for Islands by The xx, described perfectly on YouTube as “The xx in video purgatory”.

Passion Pictures’ Yu Sato combines 2D and stop frame animation in this sweet promo for That Day by Lali Puna.

Suburban dystopia rarely looks as good as in this video by Kiku Ohe from Sydney-based prod co The Silentlights. The promo is for Big Jet Plane by Aussie folk siblings Angus & Julia Stone.

Finally, we end with a short film by Clemens Kogler of Annex Films that utilises turntables to create beautiful animations. The voiceover on the film is a little strange, but it serves as a great demo for the technique, which Kogler anticipates could also be used in live performances.
