pThe sixth annual Alvar Aalto Design Seminar looks like it will be yet another superb event, bringing many top design practitioners together in Finland this August to discuss “The Origin of Product Identity.” Timo Salli, a professor of Applied Art and Design at the Aalto University School of Art and Design who conceived the seminar’s theme, describes the topic in detail:/p

blockquoteLying behind the identity and quality of a piece of applied art that has become a classic is often a successful match of functionality and beauty.
