Check It Out: This Season’s Houndstooth Is Funky And Feminine
Posted in: Uncategorized  | The pulled-together black and white check has been a favorite of ladies who lunch, schoolgirls, and men is suits. But not since Christian Dior showed his “New Look” collection has houndstooth had such a moment. The traditional houndstooth print is commonly black, white, and medium-sized, but with this season’s new houndstooth, all rules are out the window. Houndstooth is now shown supersized and miniaturized, in black and white or full on colors (try mini houndstooth for a ladylike look). Alexander McQueen’s collection focused on a showstopping version of the print, showing head to toe houndstooth and matching smaller houndstooth accessories. At Preen, the print took on a life of its own when matched with other black and white prints, lending an almost psychedelic look to the collection.
