Salt Shaker With A Difference

Most of us are guilty of sprinkling generous amounts of salt over our food, especially when we have intake restrictions. Mamma is a saltshaker with a difference. It has an integrated spoon-like lip with markings that lets you know how much salt you are going to sprinkle on the food. The main aim of this project is to reduce the intake of salt. The video explains it how…

iMessaging With iBackpack

Love the idea of owning the iBackpack, a simple communicating tool for cyclists. The backpack features a transparent window through which your tablet (aka iPad) can be seen. It syncs in with your Smartphone via Bluetooth and using a special app, you can let the world know if you are going to be taking a right or a left turn. The Smartphone doubles up as a rearview mirror and relays info like break signal or emoticons and messages to the tablet.

Here is how it works:

Rear Mirror: Scenes behind users are displayed on their smart phone by using camera on tablet PC in the backpack.

Turn Signal: Using swipe and gyro sensor in smart phone on bicycle handle bar.

Break Signal: When riding speed rapidly slows down, speed sensor in Smartphone will recognize it and relay it.

Message: Users can display messages on their tablet PC by selecting saved messages on smart phone.

The Anywhere Speakers

Who can resist speakers that can be carried to all the places you fancy! Yes, the Moktak is not your typical pair of portable outdoor speakers. They are special and can be can be used anywhere; while cycling, hung from a tree…. anywhere! The speakers feature a flexible lead cable with a silicone cover and can bend into any shape. The cable stays in shape and surges power between the two audio outputs. It even doubles up as a handle to carry the speakers; a hook for hanging or a stand for propping them up. What’s cool is that you can protect them by clamping them shut like a pod!

Moktak Portable Outdoor Speakers is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.

Drying Rails

The Rail Type Laundry Rack is a rework on the traditional drying rack. It features sliding hanging rails and a grooved frame, which allow the rack to be adjusted so that it gets easy to hang the laundry. Typically the rails on most laundry racks are fixed at equal distances, so it may get difficult to dry two jeans in adjacent rails. With the Rail Type Laundry Rack, you can adjust the distances between the two rails and hang clothes accordingly.

Rail Type Laundry Rack Design is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.
