Launching this week, Famille Summerbelle’s new wallpaper and accessory collection: Manhattan.
Never to disappoint, we love the new detailed illustrations of people
and the skyline of a ‘Morning in Manhattan'. If you look closely you can even spot a pretzel stand. The new wallpapers are perfect for any room in a house where kids live. Ochre yellow happens to be the new color for us here on Bloesem so we are having our eyes set on one of these rolls. More pictures below the fold and click here for Famille Summerbelle's website.

A bit ashamed to say but New Duivendrecht a Dutch design label was totally unknown to me until last August when I visited the NY international Gift Fair. You remember I told you I came to the fair together with Jurianne, who was part of Tuttobene and Tuttobene was founded by Victor Le Noble who also is one of the designers behind New Duivendrecht.
Victor send me an email last weekend telling me about their latest product called the Baby Barrel Lamp designed by Nieuwe Heren… an I really like it!
The design of the first Barrel lamp was inspired by the aesthetics of WWI searchlights. Now more friendly but still a strong and sturdy shape that provides a steady source of light in any type of space. It is crafted out of wood, steel and concrete…. the combination of wood and concrete makes it very attractive for me and I would probably place the Baby Barrel lamp on a floor in a corner of my home. A bit more about New Duivendrecht:
New Duivendrecht was founded by Frederik Roijé and Victor le Noble. Both are designers as well as entrepreneurs. Frederik is Art Director of New Duivendrecht. He graduated from the famous Design Academy in Eindhoven. Shortly after graduating he started his studio in Duivendrecht. Frederik has succesfully designed numerous products for clients and created his own collection.
Victor is General Director of New Duivendrecht. He studied Industrial Design Engineering at the University of Technology in Delft. After graduating he worked as interior and product designer. In 2004 he also founded design platform Tuttobene, a foundation which supports young talented designers who focus on sustainable design.
I love collaborations and I am hoping to do more collaborations myself next year with creative people from around the globe…. and this project definitely gets me inspired.
Marsha Golemac from 'Three Nations', who is a paper artist and crafter received a package from Love Mae, you know the label from Australia making awesome wall murals and other paper designs. The parcel was filled with beautiful wrapping paper from Love Mae and they told Marsha 'do what you love' … that's what she did and see here the result …. paper wall hangings [one using a paper weaving technique], diamond shaped stackable totems, and a little cabin with some snow capped mountains.
If you woud like to be creative with wrapping paper too … use one of these great tutiroals on the Love Mae blog. Every month to share with you a project. I particularely liked the large flower blossoms …

Elke van den Berg is a Dutch Designer that is worth to keep an eye on. She recently designed four absolutely beautiful drinking jugs, that you can use for serving tea, coffee, water or lemonade. Now you could ask yourself why these jugs are so special. Well, these four jugs are not only a piece of art that you can hang in your kitchen for display no, each jug was made with a purpose and that is the drinks that you serve. Elke choose to make the jugs out of different materials based on the characteristics of the drinks as every drink has its own character…
You can check out more of Elke’s products with brilliant colour combinations at Studio Elke van den Berg. Like these ramekins called Chocolate Circus it does not only sound delicious but it also looks delicious..
If it was me I know what I would choose to hang up in my kitchen…lucky for us Elke’s products are for sale at Restorded (they collect and sell unique products like Elke's) or at Confetti webshop.
