Dezeen Space: Canadian studio AT.AW. will be exhibiting their range of Orphans Plush toys at our micro-exhibition Dezeen Platform at Dezeen Space today.
The toys were developed from an earlier street-art project called The Orphans.
Other toy stories on Dezeen include Dolls by Alexa Lixfeld, Robots by Rusti D. and Little Satans by Muungano and Sandberg&Timmonen.

Dezeen Space: Brendan Magennis will be running a micro workshop demonstrating his range of Whackpack Furniture at Dezeen Platform at Dezeen Space today.
The furniture can be assembled with just a mallet and wooden wedges, with no need for screws or glue.
Earlier this summer we featured the Bucks New University graduate’s furniture on Dezeen.

Dezeen Space: design graduate Clinton Sheldon brings a series of products made of components salvaged from the factory of British furniture company Ercol to our micro-exhibition Dezeen Platform at Dezeen Space today.
The pieces are made using redundant components that would otherwise be destined for Ercol’s factory furnace.
One piece is wrapped in a red electrical cable, leading to a light bulb.
Another piece is a rocking chair that utilises discarded pieces from the factory’s wooden chairs.
Other stories on Dezeen featuring discarded materials include a sledge made from a leftover Christmas Tree, a cabinet made from reclaimed floorboards and an animated pond made of 60 discarded computer monitors.

Dezeen Space: WRAP magazine launch their latest issue and two new product ranges at Dezeen Platform at Dezeen Space today.
Wrap is a large-format illustration and design magazine with no staples or stitching so that each sheet can be reused as wrapping paper once it has been read.
The theme for the new issue is ‘dark days, bright nights.’
There is a limited 2000 copy print run, all hand-numbered.
Issue three contains 9 double page illustrations and a perforated back cover that can be turned into notecards.
Wrap will also be launching two new products at Dezeen Space today: Tape Shapes and Wrap Packs.
Tape Shapes are vinyl stickers to be used as an alternative to sticky tape.
Wrap Packs contain a range of materials designed by previous Wrap magazine designers for wrapping presents.
Wrap magazine, Tape Shapes and Wrap Packs are available to purchase at Dezeen Space.

Dezeen Screen: in this movie we filmed at Dezeen Space, designer Jan Rose talks about his furniture that’s knitted from steel wire and boiled leather. Watch the movie »
Dezeen Space: today at Dezeen Platform, Portuguese designer Manuel Netto presents a lamp that can only be turned on by moving the bulb.
Electrical current is only passed through the bulb when it’s attached to specific docking points along the structure’s branching arms.
To turn the lamp on, users take the bulb out of its holder and touch it to the appropriate contact point.

Dezeen Space: Glasgow designer Fraser Ross presents his plant-like LED lamps, trapped under bell jars, which react to the sound and movement of onlookers at Dezeen Platform today.
The lamps turn on, twitch and uncurl when users touch the glass or blow on the sensors.
Each lamp is hand-crafted from LED lights and wires, encased in individual glass bell jars with wooden bases.
Ross also shows a new version that recoils when viewers tap on the glass of its display cabinet.
