Spaceship House by Zaha Hadid

Lean On Me

Someone has rightly said that design need not be complicated, if you peel the layers of fluff, you will be left with a clear perception of good design. The ‘Lean-able Umbrella’ follows this thought and is a very intuitive and simple design. The handle end has been redesigned with end points that feature a non-slip silicon pad. People tend to lean their umbrellas against the wall, and this design addresses that situation effectively.

Lean-able Umbrella is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry.

Citrus Fresh Squeeze

You got to simply love the handy Citrus Spray designed by Alberto Arza and Joan Rojeski for Spanish houseware brand Lékué! It is so simple and a surefire way to get freshly squeezed lime juice (or any other citrus fruit) sprayed over your food! Can it get simpler than this – just stick in the spraying mechanism through the cut-off wedge and get spraying!

The biggest advantage is preventing the loss of vitamins and oxidation of the juice.

Pressure Test With Jot Touch

We have been tracking Adonit for quite a while now and we love the innovative Bluetooth Pressure Sensitive Stylus for iPad. Christened the Jot Touch, Adonit has its hand on the pulse of what people want in terms of writing equipment using digital mediums. It is the first real pressure sensitive stylus that addresses the requirements of a professional artists. Basically it transforms your iPad into a sketchbook and gives you a surreal experience.

Features:

  • Using Bluetooth technology, Touch communicates with Jot Ready apps to give you a deeper experience.
  • Two programmable shortcut buttons makes it easy to undo a mistake or change tools. Even if an app is not Pressure Sensitive, you still have the most accurate stylus around.
  • The pressure-sensitive stylus adjusts the line weight based on the pressure applied to provide a more complete digital drawing experience.
  • Jot Touch incorporates the same precision disc as the rest of the family.
  • It even adds a dampening tip that simulates the natural contact of writing with a pen on paper.
  • Popular apps like Procreate, Sketchbook Pro, Art rage and Clibe have already integrated the SDK (Software Development Kit).

For The Seven Dwarfs

For some odd reason the seven dwarfs used to go mining at night and I reckon they could put this Light Shovel to good use! Jokes aside, I think it is a clever idea to integrate lighting into the shovel stick. It could come in handy in mines or when for you have to use it at night. Plus if we can get it to somehow trap kinetic energy and put it to some use, it would be great! For now the concept looks it can be tweaked and toyed upon.

Light Shovel is a 2012 iF Design Talents Entry.

When Time is Safely Encapsulated

Safe Time is a concept watch that features a massive stainless steel case and a circular dial with titanium axis. Sharp milling and strictly functional (logic) design, are the key elements to the concept. Apparently the dials rotate instead of the hours and minutes hands; and this is how the time is displayed and read. The LED back-lit dials help in time reading. An exquisite design that redefines time telling!

Stay Outta My Lane II

Cyclists can do with as much illumination help that they can get from getting accidentally hit at night. Akin to the Light Lane, the Arrow Zone performs a similar function of warning oncoming and follow-up traffic of your bicycle presence. However this sleek attachment hooks to the side and projects a distinctive arrow to the lane to the side of your cycle. It’s a detachable unit thus you can hook it to either side of the bike, depending upon which side of the road you drive. Nice concept and with a few tweaks it can go to become a real good product.
