Woolrich Woolen Mills A/W 2010

With his verifiable twist on the quintessential Americana outwear label, Woolrich Woolen Mills‘ designer Daiki Suzuki perfectly blends high fashion with workwear in his latest Autum/Winter 2010 collection. (Click on images for expanded view)

While the Japanese innovator updates the label each season, the new collection offers a fresh aesthetic with streamlined, ultra-sophisticated ensembles and a nod to the early ’80s Comme des Garçons color palette.

Dubbing his collection “Dark Hunting,” Suzuki used a mix of heritage Woolrich patterns and fabrics in stark blues and blacks. Choosing not to pre-wash the garments, plush wools in stripes, plaids and herringbone comprise tailored jackets, ponchos and pants. Accented with denim and leather, we’re loving the collection’s ruggedly distinguished aesthetic.

Showing today in Milan at the Galleria Lorenzelli, the New York Times Style Magazine has already tweeted that the A/W 2010 collection is “the best Woolrich Woolen Mills collection yet.”
