This Just Inbox: Clock in a jar

pimg alt=”jarclock.jpg” src=”http://s3files.core77.com/blog/images/jarclock.jpg” width=”468″ height=”305″ class=”mt-image-none” style=”” //p

pAnother concept clock: a href=”http://www.oren-hetzroni.com/”Oren Hetzroni/a, a student at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, sent us his take on the clock, a href=”http://www.oren-hetzroni.com/jar”encapsulated in a jar/a. The idea was inspired by childhood memories of trapping insects inside a jar, except in this case the captive is time. The hands, hung vertically, move around the circumference of the glass vessel, which is marked with the hours. /p

pThis project does a couple of things that we like: it requires a tactile interaction in order to be read (bringing us out of our precious 2D information space) and can live equally well among ingredients in a pantry, books on a shelf or in the middle of a table./p

pA couple more after the jump./p
