Japanese man builds first ‘real’ transformer

The Transform Robot took a decade of research by Ishida’s Brave Robotics to come into fruition. Right now, he is only offering a very limited run of 10 robots that will be shipped a month after you order. In the long run, it just might get mass-produced since the robot and its parts have been 3D printed. He is currently preparing to unveil his invention at Maker Fair Tokyo.

3-D printed record

Amanda Ghassaei demonstrates how she’s created the world’s first 3-D printed records. The first among them was “Debaser,” by the Pixies. She’s since gone on to print records of Nirvana, Daft Punk and Radiohead, and spoke to Wired magazine about the project.

Tripping

I’m currently in Brazil on vacation. I’ve photographed lots of textures and ideas that I’ll be using on the clocks. Traveling is always something that inspires me, as I leave my usual comfort zone and start to see things differently. Be cool. I’ll be back soon and start working really hard.

Brazilian Kids Call Santa on Magic Phone Booth

This is so awesome!  Everyone needs a little magic this holidays season.

In Rio de Janeiro, children can call Santa Claus from Orelhão Mágico, a ‘magic’ phone booth set up on the sidewalk by Brazilian telecommunications company Oi. Retired actors answer the calls and leave magical surprises. The reactions from both sides are priceless.
