The Most Style Savvy Stars Of 2010! (And No, It’s Not Ke$ha!)

imageThere were quite a few fashion disasters in 2010 and with majority of the votes, Ke$ha is the winner of being the most disastrous fashion victim (and rightfully so!). And while we usually show you how to get the winners style for yourself, who wants to be mistaken for a Ke$ha understudy??

Instead, here are two of our favorite fashionable celebs that were celebrated for their style savvy in 2010. Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo were both known for their expert eye in making unique and wearable ensembles and we love their looks! Alexa’s edgy, street savvy downtown vibe and Olivia’s classically modern uptown style are both to be envied!

Couture In The City Loves Full Skirts for Fall!

imageFull skirts that reach below the knee have been seen on runways and stars everywhere this winter! We’ve seen the look on Anne Hathaway, Camilla Belle, and Keira Knightley. It’s a look that works with a variety of figure types, emphasizing hourglass shapes and adding curves to boyish figures.

First popularized by the ladies of the 1950s, the cinch-waist full skirt has had many incarnations over the decade, from bias-cut flannel in the 70s to today’s more girly styles.

The best way to wear these skirts is with heels and simple tops. If you add too much volume on top, it€™s easy to throw the proportions off.

Daily Obsesh – Winter Prairie Poncho

imageThe weather has been weird and random this year – sometimes it’s shockingly cold and storming, other days it’s raining and some days the sun is shining bright.

Yes, we’re complaining. And with good reason! Uncertain weather makes choosing an outfit a little hard. Do you wear pants or a skirt? A coat or a sweater? Luckily, we’re liking the idea of wearing a poncho. Especially if it’s this cute one from our friends at Madewell. It’s perfect for in-between outfits during in-between weather.

Made from extra-fine merino wool, it’s super warm and cozy. Plus, it has a kangaroo pouch in the front (we love that!) and can make any outfit -whether pants, a skirt or a dress – look adorable. Now where were we with that weather? Oh, yeah … we love the uncertainty!

Trend Spotted! – Leopard Print Shoes

imageIt seems like just yester-year that leopard print anything was reserved for the likes of Peggy Bundy and friends. But these last few seasons have been saying differently! Leopard print everything from purses to overcoats have been gracing the runways and hitting store shelves!

Yet, many of us may still be a little timid in trying out this big cat trend in large doses. If those loud leopard leggings just aren’t your thing and that that spotted shawl is too overwhelming, but you still want to partake in this trend, there is a solution! Shoes! (and really … aren’t they the solution to any fashion dilemma??)

Leopard print shoes, be it sneakers or stilettos, adds a funky and daring punch of style that’s eye-catching, but not overpowering. Tired of boring jeans? Leopard flats give them an instant maekover! That LBD is treid and true … but also seen a million times! Add some sexy peep-toes or wedges and re-amp the whole vibe!

A surprisingly versatile shoe look, leopard print kicks are a great way to try this trend for yourself! Click on the slideshow to see our fave picks!
