Thanks for the love

Thank you to Katrina Frost, a reader from the UK, who was inspired enough to declare her affections with fridge magnets! (somehow the message is even sweeter since it is all in lowercase letters…)

Where to find number one…

Although we sold out of the launch issue here, there are still copies to be found. I know that Sabrina Butterfly in Edmonton has some and you can visit the members of our little distribution network.

A handful

Thanks to your curiosity, the magazine’s launch issue was a huge success. Here’s a snapshot from this morning… just eleven copies left!

Issue 2: the cover!

Seconds, anyone?

I’ve updated the shop so that if you have already purchased a single copy of our launch issue and have decided to subscribe, you can start your subscription with the second issue. The Summer issue will be out in early July. (There are still a couple dozen copies of the launch issue reserved for new subscribers, so start your subscription from the very beginning! Issue one will ship asap and you won’t have too long to wait for a second helping!)

Our new front cover features the photography of Vicky Lam and styling of Christina Yan.

Type Tuesday: action letters

Design idea outtake.

It will always be number 1

Thanks to your incredible support, we have just 30 copies of the first issue left! I have reserved these last ones for new subscribers, so if you subscribe soon you will be receiving the first issue right away, followed by issue 2 in early July. (preview the launch issue here)

It’s a VERY busy week here: we’re hard at work on the second issue which goes to print in a matter of weeks (I’ll be posting a preview of the second issue soon), it’s First Thursday which means that we’re hanging the new Jen11 show today… and stay tuned for the unveiling of something new: the UPPERCASE project room!

Letters are fun!

This morning I had some fun hand-setting some vintage letters to be used in one of the magazine’s upcoming articles. We’re still accepting submissions for The Lost Art of The End: click here for more details.

Room 6

We’re happy to report that a stack of magazines is on its way to Room 6 in North Vancouver. If the mailman is quick, they should arrive on Friday!

Type Tuesday: play

Working on something for issue #2!

Survey says…

The beauty about being small is that we can connect directly with our readers. Our subscribers are already an integral part of the magazine’s content: in the second issue you’ll be able to meet some of them in our subscriber profiles. We’ve also commissioned illustration and photography by people we’ve recently discovered through the suggestion form and from peeking at our subscribers’ website. (Yes, we google you!)

For those of you who’ve had the chance to read issue one, we invite your comments and hope that you’ll respond to this quick survey (click here).

I’ve been twittering lately and I must say that I’m becoming a fan. Follow us here and I’ll reciprocate!
