Shopper’s Diary: Baileys Cafe in Herefordshire

From Julie:

One of our favorite sources is Baileys Home & Garden, in Herfordshire, two hours outside of London. The owners recently revamped the compound, which now includes a cafe/shop, several workshops, a studio, a smithy, as well as their own home. The cafe is located in a huge airy barn, with a concrete floor, whitewashed beams, and a selection of vintage, new, and repurposed housewares.

Architect Visit: Gustave Carlson in Inverness

From Julie:

Berkeley-based designer Gustave Carlson used reclaimed teak flooring, custom powder-coated aluminum windows and doors from Bonelli Windows & Doors in South San Francisco, Neff kitchen cabinets sourced from the Green Home Center in San Francisco, and tiles from Blue Slide Art Tile in Point Reyes in this 2,400-square-foot modern barn in Inverness, CA, for a family of four. Carlson also tucked a play loft under the rafters of the children’s bedroom. Via SF Gate.
