Flatter than Flat Lighting

The minimalist Gru (Italian for “crane”) lamp is characterized by a simplistic form with total flatness that gives it a unique aesthetic meant to blur the lines between 2 & 3D. However thin, the design is as durable as it is ductile. This is made possible by use of Vetronite material which not only provides structural stability, but also acts as a glass epoxy conductor to deliver power directly to the LED lights without wires!

More than just a bucket…

In a surprising merging of products, the Solar Energy Bucket serves as a multifunctional tool for anyone who likes to rough it. At first glance it appears to be a simple water bucket, but turn it upside down and you’ll see a small solar panel which harnesses the sun’s energy during the day. The stored energy can then be used to power the built-in light or even gently heat the water. Peculiar… but genius!

The light at the end of the tunnel.

Glow is a low-cost, low-maintenance, and low-tech solution for providing efficient, effective lighting to the developing world. The device uses phosphorescent (glow-in-the-dark) powder, which absorbs environmental light and slowly releases it when dark. Modern phosphorescent powder has a lifespan of up to 10 years and a glow that can last up to 6 hours! UV light isn’t even required to power the glow!

From Wine to Light

Nearly 200,000 wine barrels are retired each year in California. Although some end up as planters or firewood, many are destined for landfills. Designer Dale Rorabaugh decided to do something about that. His team rescues wine barrels from wineries that simply don’t have the space to keep them any longer. To give them new life, they repurpose the material into a practical, artistic table lamp each with an expressive and unique history.

Crazy About Concrete

The Concrete Reader desk lamp creates the perfect spotlight for reading. At about 300x500mm, it’s not too big or too small… just right for illuminating the pages and not the rest of the room. The concrete material that forms the globe has a fun, planetary aesthetic with tactile peculiarity that’s just begging to be touched!

Security Light For Women

As a resident of Mumbai, I always took pride in the fact that this city was pretty safe for women. Recent events has shocked us all, and also created the need for more props that help protect women effectively and timely. The Safe Light is one such device that integrates, a torch light with a hot key for help with the local police and GPS chip to help locate the distressed woman.

Essentially this torch light has a button that can be used during distress, which immediately notifies the local police and mobilizes them to reach the spot ASAP.
