He’s an artist from Rotterdam that uses reclaimed timber to build bas-reliefs. The execution is so good, at first glance you’d swear your eyes were playing tricks on you. Lots of amazing work up on his site.

‘Live On Water’ Superyacht

This beast was built by Monaco based yacht maker Wally Construct in conjunction with Paris-based high-fashion luxury brand Hermes. With comfort in mind, this unique hull apparently tested incredibly well, showing very little movement in full swell. The designers also integrated a number of environmentally friendly features, including 900 square feet of solar paneling that feeds energy into its diesel electric engine. You can read and see more at WHY Yachts.

Calatrava’s high speed rail station in Belgium. There’s a solid overview on Inhabitat here, or you can check out the company site here (tons of excellent work to peruse). If the style looks familiar, he was the designer behind Toronto’s BCE Place.

A beautiful video done by Danish painter-turned-director for IKEA. They must have footed a pretty serious travel bill, shots from all over the world. You can watch it, along with some of his other work here.
