Lighting Gone Green

The latest in a trend of plant lamps (or as I like to call them “plamps”), the Green Lamp features a lattice shade and neck that stems directly out of a soil pot. Plant your favorite vine and watch it creep up to create an organic leaf shade you can trim yourself. A little shabby chic but I kinda love it. Bet you never thought your lamp would need sun!

Furniture for Plants

The inspiration behind the O furniture series came from our human tendency to sporadically place plants and pots at home and was crafted with a top surface perfect for containing these plants. The shallow, sunken top is lined with handcrafted ceramic vessels of different size, balancing and softening the rigid geometry of the console and credenza. Maybe you’re not a fan of indoor plants- the unique structure offers an unusual way of storing a multitude of items from books to knick knacks.

Easy Chemical Free Fertilizing

The EcoFeed fertilizing system utilize natural material such as compost & nettles to create a liquid fertilizer, known as compost tea, which helps plant growth & prevents disease. Simply add homemade compost into the filter basket & connect the product to your outdoor hose. Hose water running through the tank creates a siphon, mixing the concentrated compost tea with the water which dilutes the mixture for use on plants. No need for harmful chemical fertilizers!

Glowing Gardens

I’m not a huge fan of terrariums or clustered pendant lamps on their own, but combine the two ideas and I’m on board! The 38 Series was developed from a technique where glass spheres are blown and then a multitude of cavities are introduced into them, intentionally intersecting and colliding within the sphere. Some of the cavities serve as planters with soil and others house lighting for a one-of-a-kind garden/light hybrid.

Not your usual shop I am writing about today, but I am happy to share this post. … I am the kind of person who loves going to hardware stores like these and try and find good deals … mix-and-match… it is all a matter of picking the same style, materials and colors and you will have a great design garden. And one day I hope to have one of those greenhouses like the one above in our own garden…

World of Worms

Like many kids (and much to my parents dismay), I was mesmerized by worms! The Miniville compost system capitalizes on this obsession, teaching kids the importance of worms and composting through an interactive, modular “city” structure that gives little ones a first-hand look into the process so they can… well… see how worms work!

No Green Thumb Needed

These days, very few people have the outdoor space to garden and grow their own herbs for cooking. The sleek BB Little Garden was designed with urban dwellers in mind and makes it possible to have fresh herbs all year round. Aesthetically and functionally, it’s more like a modern appliance and will blend perfectly in any kitchen.

Hydroponics at Home

Gardening can be a rewarding and therapeutic activity- unfortunately, many urban dwellers will never get the chance to experience it! Using current hydroponics technology, the Auxano concept was designed to enable city dwellers to grow their own produce effectively and efficiently (and without mess!) within the space constraints of city living. Its innovative oxygenating pump system means no electricity is needed for the product to operate.

The root cradle slides out of the top making the harvesting of the vegetable or herb an easy process. The roots freely hang down from the cradle into the nutrient solution below.
This bottom section unscrews revealing the nutrient reservoir. Feeding the plant from underneath the product makes the process more efficient and mess free.

The nutrient solution needs to remain oxygenated to prevent it from stagnating. Auxano’s innovative pump system sets this product out from any other hydroponic grower. The user simply pushes the underlying rubber pump a few times a day releasing bursts of oxygen into the nutrient tank above. The oxygen is pumped into the nutrient tank through a simple one way valve system. Operating the air flow manually enhances the user interaction with the product and also removes the need to introduce electricity to keep the nutrient solution aerated; in turn further enhancing the products eco-friendliness.
