Vernacular Versatility

This architectural accomplishment takes inspiration from traditional Korean Hanok houses that are defined by their wooden structural systems, curvy tiled roofs and strong formal gestures. The core structural element is known as Gagu – the point under the roof where column meets beam and girder without additional fasteners like nails. Using new modeling software, these traditional elements are merged with modern know-how to create a high-rise structure to meet contemporary purposes that also pays homage to the iconic, historically one-story residences.

This robot sucks!

Literally! ERO is an award-winner concrete deconstruction robot designed to disassemble concrete structures while preserving the material for reuse in new prefab buildings. It uses high-powered water jets in its moveable arm to crack the surface and break up the slab, and then sucks up the mixed debris. In the reservoir, it separates the mixture, and creates a labeled, packaged asset that can be instantly transferred to the factory for remolding into usable blocks. No dust, no waste!

Loader Facelift!

While wheel-dozers and loaders most often function on flat ground, there are times when more rugged terrain must be tackled to get the job done. To ease working on uneven land, the Arm Loader features a driver’s cabin positioned on a moving arm that keeps the operator elevated and balanced even when the machine is not. This provides workers a safer, less tiresome position with a better view of obstructions that would otherwise not be visible depending on the machine’s angle. Check out the vid for the 360!

Visible Warning Lights

P. L. P of Light or Road Construction Warning Lights are retractable OLED light belts that help cordon off areas on the main road where construction or an accident has occurred. Traffic cones and other warning lights are not as effective as we believe them to be. In order to make sure the workers’ safety is top-notch, this design combines OLED, retractable belt and solar energy.

  • The OLED provides a visible warning and division, which makes the motorists – drivers aware of the construction area.
  • The structure of the retractable belt allows it to be used in different situations (ex: Construction area, Road accident …..) with the flexible and faster assembly.
  • By using the solar panels, it provides the power for the OLED light.
  • This design provides a more convenient, eco-friendly, and safer road construction environment.
