Very Intuitive Camera

CMY(si-mee) is a very intuitive camera with simple functions. Pulling it out of its protective case means turning it on; pushing it back in – yes, turning it off! If you need to zoom, then simply twist the crank on the side. Rotating it outward means zooming out, while inward means zooming in. The only button on this camera is the shutter, just push it down to take a picture or swivel to a desired duration, like a kitchen timer, to take a self-timed photo. Remind us of the Polaroid days, the camera comes with a self-printer.

You can instantly print out pictures on a paper roll with a half-dot process. Tear off the printed-paper like a bill from the receipt printer, or keep it like a photo strip from photo booth! Very kawaii!

Windows 8 and Nokia’s Love

Its been a while since an awe-inspiring concept phone crossed our path, so humor me if you will, and have a peek at what the Nokia Lumia 1080 Concept Phone has to offer. The phone is inspired by the 5-inch plastic OLED display that features Full HD Resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). Future-proof, the concept believes in wearable technology hence the use of a flexible display.

Expect to find navigation buttons, control buttons and ports from outside similar to current Lumia devices. Proposed specs include .8 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB RAM, storage options of 32GB/ 64 GB, support for 2G/ 3G/ 4G LTE network, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC for connectivity. Such a grand Smartphone is going to need power hence the battery of Lumia 1080 will be of 2500 mAh capacity.

Ikonik Hotel

L’utilisation de ce matériau a permis à la marque de développer une identité visuelle très forte, déclinée dans tous les produits proposés par l’hôtel. Un très beau projet à découvrir dans la suite.

To help them ‘see’ the bountiful beauty around them, this concept camera helps print three-dimensional images of whatever it captures. With features like adjusting the depth of the shot and its range, it offers an engaging and virtual experience. An idea worth exploring, what do you think Pentax?

Deal On Wheels, The e rx Magic!

Some of the challenges that the current green and hybrid cars face are high costs and restricted range or capacity. To overcome these, we have here the e rx, a battery-powered electric vehicle concept. It mainly features an optional range extender that can be rented at gas stations or car dealerships. Essentially this kit contains all components inside one compact box: combustion engine, exhaust system, cooling unit, and fuel tank.

Features:

It is available in different sizes with respect to its power output and the size of the fuel tank.
The car concept focuses on a very lightweight and cost-efficient design.
This is realized by the reduction of fabricated parts.

The e rx is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.

Safer Bathtubs Are So Good!

Mat lined or not, the danger of slipping in bathtubs still remains the prime reason for bathroom accidents. One of the innovative ways thought out by designer Andras Suto is to apply a translucent elastic material on the edges of the bathtub. Thanks to the soft, plastic material the neck and the arms can comfortably rest on the edge of the Blando bathtub. A simple redesign where surfaces that have most contact with the human body has been changed, and this seems to be a good solution.

Constantly Upgraded Smartphone

The tech industry is on an innovation overdrive, what’s fresh today gets obsolete within days. The loss belongs to the end consumer actually; we all felt the twinge when Apple introduced two new iPhones barely months apart. Its human nature to want the newer product, hence designer Francois Rybarczyk has a good solution for this: the XTRUD Concept Phone.

One part supports all the components, and features a very simple aluminum or plastic profile.
The architecture allows the users to easily replace the phone components, (for example changing the original camera module for the new Sony one), but it also allows the users to change and customize the design of their phone by buying new profile parts.

The Bathing Sphere

While the lines between the bathing space and the bedroom are getting blurry by the day, its great to see how designers are modifying their approach towards the task of daily ablutions. We have here the Bathsphere, which is a glass-bubble kinda suspended sphere. It allows you to create your own mood and unwinding space. You can simulate rain; change the temperature inside the ball, humidity, light, sounds and even smells. Pretty awesome!

The Dyson Autonomous Radiator Concept reduces energy consumption in small houses and has detachable components that can be carried to different rooms. Sleek and portable, the radiator syncs in with your smartphone for complete control.
