Past, Present, Future Car

It’s a car, it’s a yacht, it’s a plane…it’s Poursuivreve!  A vehicle aimed at challenging our concept of how to get around both practically and aesthetically.  The Poursuivreve’s stylistic call back to old time race cars, combined with its modern cockpit-like frame make it a sight for all generations and its aerodynamic angles and lipo battery-powered system spell its environmental premise.  With the Poursuivreve you can ride in style while saving the planet.

Hot Honda Hatch

I love me a hatchback! More so if it’s electric and fast! Jex Chau’s Honda R-EV concept was designed with the already trending EV racing in mind. With sharp lines and abrupt angles, the 2-door makes perfect brand-sense for the evolution of Honda’s current aesthetic. It’s like a Fit on steroids!

Now this is a Jag

Without looking, take a minute to describe what you imagine a Jag looking like… chances are, you just described the classics AND the modern Jaguar XK-I concept. It’s an automotive brand that relies heavily on its name; a name originally synonymous with dramatic curves, top-notch materials, thoroughbred British performance, and overall star-quality of the earlier 50s and 60s models. It’s nice to see a Jag concept that embodies the roots of the brand when it was in its prime!

Roll and R1de

The futuristic R1 (Roller 1) concept vehicle was designed for the not-so-distant 2030s and aims to shed light on what might be expected from urban vehicles of the future. Powered by hydrogen fuel-cell technology, the R1 moves on 4 spherical wheels capable of cross-directional movement, making it ideal for parking, changing lanes, or turning on a dime. The small size of the hydrogen power plant provides more cockpit space on a lightweight chassis and also makes its low profile possible.

Mini Transformer

The age of super-compacts is in full swing, but with that smaller wheelbase comes compromise in stability. MONO is a transformable EV that adapts its stance to maximize the driving experience whether you’re in the city or on the open road. The vehicle automatically adjusts the wheelbase depending on road type, traffic, or speed to ensure stability and practicality no matter the driving conditions. In its compact form the EV is only slightly larger than a motorcycle, making it perfect for zipping around the city.

Predator of the Road

Considering that they’re the world’s fastest land mammal (and just plain cool), it’s surprising there aren’t more transportation designs inspired by the cheetah. Designer Balázs Filczer’s 2-seater V12 Cheetah-R concept is designed around the animal’s anatomical features which are completely built for speed: muscles, prominent spine, and robust stance. Like the fast cat- it’s lean, and mean, and looks like it’s in a constant state of muscle flexing!

City-Ready Citroen

The Citroen DS BiRotor merges the aesthetic attention to detail of top-end brands with the efficiency & economic sensibility of modern hybrid-drive vehicles. Laser headlights, AMOLED driver interface, carbon fiber everywhere, & a photosensitive polycarbonate roof/windows are just a few of the pros… but what sets it apart are the innovative tires which adapt to weather & driver demands by expanding & contracting to allow for water flow, increased traction, or higher efficiency. Hit the jump to see how it works!

Sexy City-Pod

The single-axle Honda type E concept uses similar physical principles as a segway for maximum maneuverability in the urban jungle. The ultrasmall vehicle focuses on minimum space consumption, maximum driver visibility, easy access, high efficiency, and, most importantly, driving dynamics that make it capable of turning 360 on the spot. It’s got a far-out aesthetic, but it’s really not all that unrealistic from what we’ll probably see not-so-distant future.

Pros:
– no drive chain (lower weight, low fictional resistance)
– no steering ear (lower weight)
– turns on a dime
– high efficiency start/stop-drive with regenerative braking
– standing phase without loss of energy (traffic)
– minimum use of parking space
– zero emissions

Mouth-Watering Bugatti

The Bugatti Gangloff is like the chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting of the luxury supercar world… self indulgent…  decadent… sexy… sinful. It was inspired not by late models like the Veyron or the mighty Galibier, but rather one of the classics of the brand: the 1930s Gangloff S57. What’s under the hood? Who cares… it’s much too pretty to drive anyway.

Hot Hatch

I love me a hatchback and I love me a Tesla! The Tesla C captures the brand’s unique design language in a forward-thinking 2-door city car that lives up to the original’s sporting intentions. Features include an all-glass top, motorized oversize side doors that slide toward the front rather than swing open and an electric motor/lithium-ion battery system for sporty performance without sporty emissions. Aesthetically, it’s in line with Tesla’s modern design direction and would be a perfect addition to their limited line of roadsters and sedans.
