Camilla book progress

I’m looking at book proofs this morning! It is so exciting to see the book at this stage—I’m looking forward to going to Printcrafters in Winnipeg for the press check of the book early next week. {UPPERCASE gallery will be closed on Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 10 while I’m out of town.}

Type Tuesday: Luggage Tags

Camilla Engman‘s upcoming book (at the printer, available for preorder!) is part of The Suitcase Series. This series presents in glorious detail the lives of artists and designers from around the world. Small and intimate, each book contains a special treasure: in this edition we have included a glassine envelope of postcards with which you can create a Camilla-inspired collage. You’ll also find a booklet of the adventures of Morran, the little Swedish dog with a big imagination. The pre-orders and first few hundred books sold will also include a two-colour art print. Each book in The Suitcase Series is a precious souvenir of a creative journey shared between the artist and you, the reader.

In addition to these goodies, I’ve also designed a luggage tag/bookmark:

Here are some of my inspiration images for the tag:

Calling all Camilla fans

UPPERCASE is publishing a monograph about Swedish artist Camilla Engman, to be released in early December. Across the globe, Camilla’s blog and artwork have inspired so many of us. For a section in the book, we want to see how Camilla has become a part of your life… do you have one of her paintings or prints in your home? Do you sit at the computer with your morning coffee and enjoy her blog? Do you have Studio Violet ceramics or products? Did you create something inspired by her work?

Please send us your images and anecdotes! Images should be at least 4″ wide or larger at 300dpi to be considered for publication. Please include your full name and a link to your website/blog, if applicable. We will contact you if your submission will be published in the book.

Deadline: September 15.
