An Audi Bike for Everyone

The Audi Bike series is the result of a study on modern urban bicycle design inspired by the Audi brand design philosophy – the result: a premium class collection of modern, minimal bikes with a sporty, emotional appearance. The family consists of a folding cruiser, hybrid electric/human-powered commuter, and dual sport-tourer. Just like the Audi line of vehicles, there’s one for every taste and purpose. Hit the jump for the full 360º!

The “Audi Bike” Sports bike: The “Audi Bike” Sports bike represents a premium class bicycle segment. The dynamic body frame made by solid and lightweight material (like carbon fiber or aluminum) is combining the Seat post construction and the chain ring mechanism. The innovative bicycle body design language contains all functional and safety features. The seat post construction can be regulated by the user with a simple and convenient convertible, transformable option. The chain ring mechanism is a simplified by the safe covering system, which makes it convenient and safe. The design language of this new chain ring represents a new technical solution for all modern bicycle chains. In general the “Audi Bike” design language represents the new design ideology, to minimized the old fashioned technical, conservative construction approach and maximizes the functional, safety and aesthetics features.

The “Audi Bike” Folding bike: This folding bike represents an urban transportation segment. The general design language follows to the new “Audi Bike” family design direction, with a rational, sporty, and dynamic body language. The folding bike design face is reworked to be more urban oriented. For the global problem of urban traffic, this foldable option can be used in a efficient and useful way. The folding bike’s body is lightweight and compact, easily fitted in a standard car trunk. The folding bike can be connected with a global city network using a new smart phone or GPS mobile device system, offering to the consumer a live city map, free parking zones and urban traffic map.

The “Audi Bike” Electric bike: This hybrid electric bike represents a mountain (hilly) urban transportation segment. The Electric bike design language follows to the new “Audi Bike” family design direction, with a much more refined surface design definitions. The dynamic body frame and wheels are made by carbon fiber, which makes electric bike lightweight and solid. The upper part of the body frame combines the eclectic lithium battery cargo, with a Battery range for sample regular urban use. The Electric bike contains also the (HP) humane powered mechanism, which can be used as a generator option for charging an electric batteries and also used in a flat urban areas.

For the Purist

The XXXVI DG doesn’t fold, it has no electric motor, no phone charger or place to put an iPad, it can’t fly and it’s not an amphibious vehicle. It is, however… a bicycle with two wheels, gears, pedals and a frame. It was inspired by the purest form of the bike and simply applies traditional construction with modern materials to maximize the basics of a design that’s worked for over a century. It’s not going to be the fastest, smoothest, or even the most advanced…but it is… TIMELESS!

Get a Grip

Any bicycle enthusiast will tell you that the comfort of the rider’s hands is paramount for a pleasant and safe ride. The X-ing grip focuses in on this key part of the bike, adapting to the shape of the rider’s hand over time and providing heat or cooling depending on the season. Purposefully placed grooves increase ventilation in the summer to reduce slipperiness cause by sweaty hands. In the winter, an internal “hot-wire” is solar charged and warms the grips to keep hands from numbing. Genius!

A Cyclist Must-Have

Inspired by the high number of cyclist accidents in his native Portland, Oregon, designer Toren Orzeck developed the Orp combination horn/light to make cyclists not only more visible but “hearable.” The USB rechargeable, weatherproof design adapts to any standard handlebar and focuses on the concept of “here and hear” to provide a strobe-adjustable light and sound ranging from a friendly 76 decibels to a piercing 96 decibels to alert drivers of the cyclist’s presence. Simple and genius!

The nCredible nCycle

Don’t be deceived by the nCycle’s minimal aesthetic- it’s actually loaded with tons of extras & innovative features that set a new standard for future e-bikes. The design scraps the classic tubular structure for a sleeker, lightweight, hollow-bodied shell that protects the inner electric drive system. Other features include a built-in pocket for small cargo, a bar-mounted locking system, integrated headlights & speakers, & even a holographic display. Check it out!

nPower:
An optional electric drive version is available where the vehicle is partly aided by a rear hub-mounted electric motor. The drive power battery is located inside the body, starting from the seat and up to the pedals hub. The structure not only offers natural shell protection to the battery, but being metallic, it also provides substantia cooling, increasing performance and battery life.

nFold:
Usually, folding bikes are clumsy, and somehow look odd and chunky, especially at the hinge. Cool, sporty, foldables hardly make it into production. Thanks to its special “sandwich” structure, the nCycle can be folded in two seconds and stay sturdy without showing any aesthetic or aerodynamic handicaps with operated. The body is split in half at the location between the seat and pocket. A pair of rails is attached on both structure parts and the hinge is made to slide along those rails. Folding the bicycle involves just three steps: unlocking the rail, sliding both ends to uncover the hinge, and folding.

nLock:
An integrated locking system represents the best blend of safety, portability, lightness and ease of use. Doing away with cables, most of the system consists of the handle bar itself. With dual handles for multiple riding positions and comfort, the handle bar is appropriately loop-shaped to fit most poles and steel bars available in the city. When closed, the hardened steel loop is virtually impossible to break or cut with any kind of manual tools. The process of locking and unlocking is also much quicker and simpler- simply embrace the pole with the handle, pull the tube from one handle and click it inside the other.

nPocket:
Most bike baskets are bulky and ugly, but the nCycle’s retractable pocket between its two metal plates allows it to disappear completely when not in use. When in use, it is just slightly visible under the belly of the shell. Tied to two rigid folding arms, the support of the pocket makes it foldable, flexible, but also unbendable while turning and tilting the bike.

Headlights & Speakers:
Manually-controlled headlights and Bluetooth speakers are powered by the main battery. Built in to the handlebar structure, they are also theft proof.

Electronic System:
An optional app-operated holographic display replaces a bracket for a smartphone,  providing a display directly on the handle bar to give the rider improved and safer visibility. The various functions of the app can be accessed by sliding the thumbs back and forth on touch sensitive zones near the handles without removing the hands completely.
