Follow the games in style with David Watson’s double-sided poster set in Gotham. The piece was developed for Soccer Aid, a British charity that raises money for UNICEF. No doubt we will be following the U.S./England match come this Saturday.

Happy Socks Gets World Cup Fever

To celebrate the upcoming 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Happy Socks has developed a collection of tubing based on the national colors of a selection of the world’s leading footballing nations. The usual perennial’s are represented from Brazil, to the 2006 World Cup Champion, Italy. The threads will be available on May 21st – just in time for the much awaited month long event.

Just in Time: Illustrated Soccer Shirts for World Cup 2010



If you don’t know already—the 2010 World Cup in South Africa is about to go down 45 days from now. Nike commissioned a handful of illustrators to represent their countries and reinterpret the emblems and badges as alternative versions for their national team shirts. The example above is by Cape Town’s own illustrator Kronk.

Adidas vs Puma vs Nike

In a few months the world will have its eyes on South Africa—the country hosting the largest sporting event in the world—the 2010 World Cup. The info graphic (seen above) depicts the three athletic footwear brands (Adidas, Nike, Puma) that will be battling for best representation, and visible association with top teams and players, during and after the global championship.

The graphic informs on the size (revenues), leadership, acquisition history and brand portfolios of Adidas, Puma and Nike—with Nike still being the global lead (in terms of revenue), but with Adidas catching up quickly.
