Robert Venturis Lieb House Finally Hits the Water
Posted in: UncategorizedFor those of you who have been sitting on the edge of your seat since our last post in late-February about the slow going, touch and go saving of Robert Venturi‘s Lieb House, you’ll be relieved to hear that everything has moved forward and the residence will begin its travels from New Jersey to Long Island by barge along several bodies of water starting tomorrow morning, bright and early. Once it’s in the water, the trip is expected to take around a day and a half, landing in Long Island by Friday afternoon, where it will be greeted by Venturi himself, to make sure that nothing slips up now that everyone has gone to this much effort to save it. Also of note, if you’re up early on Friday:
After an overnight stay in Staten Island, it will pass under the Brooklyn Bridge on Friday between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m.
