Rem Koolhaas Prada Transformer Set to Launch Next Month

Back in September of last year, we reported on one of the latest collaborations between Prada and Mr. Documentary Subject, Rem Koolhaas: the Prada Transformer, an ever-shifting building/art space/theater, um, thing (we’re also still guessing that it might be a big evil death ray). Fortunately, they started building the structure before the world’s pockets were emptied, so they’re still going to launch, which they’re planning to do on April 25th on the grounds of Gyeonghi Palace in Seoul. If you go, you’ll be able to see new skirts Miuccia Prada has designed, attend a film festival, and perhaps even destroy a small neighboring planet (if they do decide to reveal that it is, in fact, a laser cannon). The project has also just launched a new site (found by way of Archinect), showing off Rem talking to a group in a quick-cut video, lots of good photos, and additional information. Though before you buy that ticket to opening night, we recommend checking out the photo we’ve included up above (which is also available in a larger size on their site). We’re pretty sure it’s an architect’s model of the fashion exhibition, because it’s labeled as such, but because the people models and the (completely headless) exhibition models are the same size, it makes us a little worried. So remember, if you do go and you wind up getting beheaded, we warned you, okay?
