Portfolio of the Week goes to Marcos Madia, a Buenos Aires-based designer with an excellent knack for coming up with fresh forms for commonplace objects.

First up, check out his Ruby Chair, a decidedly different and rather arachnid take on the chaise longue:

Last week we showed you an Indian sitting style chair. Madia’s take on cultural furniture is a “Latin Sofa,” designed with Angela Martin Martin, that tilts backwards for a quick siesta:

His clever Party Dish is the perfect flatware for standing-room-only parties where you’d still like a bottle of vino to go with your chow:
