It’s official, the American auto brand Pontiac is basically dead as a doornail. But we want to remember that there were many decades when Pontiac produced some truly beautiful designs.

In commemoration of the once-proud brand, here’s a photo retrospective of Pontiac cars starting from the 1940s, through their golden years of the ’50s/’60s, and up to the ’70s, which is approximately when they started to suck. Hit the jump to see tons-o’-pics.
