pRemember A HREF=”http://www.blogger.com/profile/14033480276168015590″ John Kricfalusi/A, of Ren Stimpy fame? Kricfalusi’s got a blog in which he succintly laments,/p

blockquoteI remember a time when you’d swear everyone was a design genius. Every TV, appliance, Fridge, Toaster and even transistor radio was beautiful to look at- and there was an endless variety of designs for each humdrum everyday household item./blockquote

pKricfalusi A HREF=”http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2010/04/eric-wrobbel-slaps-face-of-modernity.html” goes on to show the dreaded black box syndrome/A, where cell phones, televisions, camcorders and DVD players all start to look the same. He then turned us on to A HREF=”http://www.ericwrobbel.com/” Eric Wrobbel/A, a collector of transistor radios, old televisions and other vintage electronics. Wrobbel’s rather unique in that rather than letting all of his stuff pile up unseen in his garage, he takes the time to put together (and sell, on eBay) absolutely luscious tomes documenting all of these products, with tons of photos and descriptive text. A sample:/p

pWrobbel’s online store is A HREF=”http://www.ericwrobbel.com/books/” here/A, and his eBay book listings are A HREF=”http://stores.ebay.com/ericwrobbel_Books-by-Eric-Wrobbel_W0QQ_fsubZ2168139018QQ_sidZ396451338QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322″ here./A/pa href=”http://www.core77.com/blog/object_culture/piles_of_photo_books_on_vintage_electronic_designs_16354.asp”(more…)/a
